The Power Of A Well - Considered BUDGET!

One of the most - overlooked, necessities, of quality leadership, often, is, having leaders, who are familiar with, and capable of using a BUDGET, to its greatest, possible benefit, etc! After over four decades, of personal involvement, in nearly, all aspects of leading, from identifying and qualifying, to training, developing, and consulting to thousands of actual, and/ or, potential leaders, as well as serving, personally, as a leader, on several occasions (for various organizations, etc), I have come to believe, strongly, this knowledge, understanding, and expertise (hopefully), often, differentiates, our most meaningful leaders, from the rest - of - the - pack! With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why it matters.

1. Better/ best; benefit/ beneficial; balance; bang - for - the - buck: Shouldn't we seek individuals, who focus on creating better conditions, using their best efforts, in a beneficial manner, to benefit the specific group, in a relevant, and sustainable way? How one balances, the options, and proceeds, often, determines, whether, the organization, will get, the most, bang - for - the - buck!

2. Useful; uses; usage; usual/ unusual: True leaders must be prepared, to address, both, the usual, as well as unusual circumstances, and obstacles! He must use a budget, in as useful, away, as possible, and fully understand the potential uses, and its best, possible, usage!

3. Delve deeply/ discover; deliver A properly, created, and developed, budget, should be a valuable weapon, in the quest, to delve deeply, and, hopefully, discover viable options and opportunities, in the most beneficial way! If you want to be a true leader, you must, not only, consider, but, proceed, to deliver, the necessary plans, which might make your organization, the best, it can possibly, become!

4. Growth; genuine; greater/ common good: Organizations must, constantly, undergo, meaningful, relevant growth, or, risk, failing to succeed, and exist! Understanding economic realities, is significant, in terms of, bringing - forth, the finest, most genuine leadership! The ultimate goal, must be, to serve, the greater, and/ or, common good!

5. Evaluate; estimates; excellence: Properly - prepared budgets, are crucial tools, in evaluating, how to proceed, forward, in the short, intermediate, and longer - terms! They provide, meaningful estimates, in terms of optimizing revenues, and expenditures, and enhancing our quest, for the ultimate degree of excellence, for, all, involved!

6. Time-tested; timely; trends; trust: When one uses a budget, effectively, he becomes more capable, of proceeding with, time - tested, expertise, judgment, and, hopefully, wisdom! Since, procrastination, often, destroys the best possibilities, a real leader, must be prepared, to proceed, with well-considered, timely actions, which considers, all contributing factors! How else, can one, truly, deserve, and earn constituents' trust?

Pay attention to, and use, a properly, considered, and prepared, BUDGET, effectively, in order to enhance your chances, to succeed! Are you, up to these tasks?
