Hello everyone!! This is the first time that I’m going to post on this platform. So, to start on with the proceeding, I’m Thimal Basnayake and I am a Sri Lankan citizen. To get to know more about me, please refer to my

Achievement 1.
So, as it was a Holiday here in Sri Lanka because it’s a day that all the Buddhists around the world celebrated the Lord Buddha’s Birth, enlightenment, and passing away. So as a Buddhist country we also celebrate this day in a very high manner.

So I woke up early in the morning as I had to go to my site office to participate in the pre-planned Vesak celebration. In the meantime here In Sri Lanka, since the government has put on travel restrictions to get rid of the ongoing pandemic, the celebrations of the Vesak were very much limited almost everywhere. Anyway as a person who is working as an engineer on a construction site, I have been granted a vehicle pass to go for work.

After coming to the site office there was some remaining work to be done of the Vesak celebration program. According to the plan we organized to make the small temple, a digital Vesak lantern, manioc and belimal dan sala(where people give food without taking money), and Vesak decorations.
According to some site officers' plan, a small temporary temple was built with the use of site blocks and it was decorated with some fine carvings. Also, a Buddha statue was placed and there were places to light up Lamp and incense sticks as well.

A colorful Digital Vesak lantern was made up by the brainchild of the site’s electrical engineer's crew and electrical staff. Actually, it was a new experience for a lot of people.

100kgs of manioc and 1kg of belimal drink were given to people with following the health guidelines.

Some beautiful Vesak lanterns were also made up by the site trainee staff and those looked really beautiful.

So, even with a pandemic situation, all the site staff and workers had done a great job to succeed in this Vesak celebration according to the given health guidelines.

So after a very successful day, I came back home to celebrate Vesak at home with my loving wife and our little boy.
