La cuarentena es un término usado en medicina que sirve para describir el aislamiento de personas como consecuencia de una enfermedad, durante un período de tiempo no determinado para evitar o reducir el riesgo de que se extienda la enfermedad en cuestión.

En la actualidad, la humanidad se enfrenta a una pandemia (afectación de una enfermedad infecciosa de los seres humanos a lo largo de un área geográficamente extensa) por la acción del Coronavirus o COVID-19, un virus diagnosticado a finales del año pasado en la ciudad china de Wuhan, y que se ha extendido a más de 100 países, con más de 200.000 afectados y que ha causado más de 10.000 víctimas fatales, cifras que lamentablemente se incrementan día a día, razón por la cual, los gobienos y jefes de estado de las diversas naciones han dictado medidas preventivas, entre las que destaca la cuarentena o ailamiento social con la finalidad de evitar la propagación de este flagelo.

Durante una corta visita que realizara al apartamento de mi madre para comprobar su estado de salud, tuve la oportunidad de fotografiar esta paloma que se resguardaba del inclemente sol y las altas temperaturas que se registran en la ciudad de Barquisimeto durante estas fechas que anteceden la llegada de la Semana Santa.

La imagen original tomada a color, la modifiqué haciendo uso de la aplicación PicsArt, empleando una superposición de filtros, comenzando con un filtro del tipo HDR (High Dynamic Range) con la finalidad de ampliar los tonos de la imagen original, y posteriormente un filtro sencillo de Blanco & Negro.

During a short visit to my mother's apartment to check her state of health, I had the opportunity to photograph this pigeon that was sheltering from the harsh sun and the high temperatures that occur in the city of Barquisimeto during these dates that precede the arrival of Easter

I modified the original image in color, using the PicsArt application, using a filter overlay, starting with a filter of the HDR (High Dynamic Range) type in order to expand the tones of the original image, and then a simple Black & White filter.
