Green-Eyed Robber Fly

The green robber fly is a large robber fly with distinctive tiger stripes on the abdomen. All I needed to do was to manage to get a couple of shots from distance range before it's really disappeared from my sight. This insect is also called a predatory insect for it feeds itself with other insects and capable of catching prey in flight. It has stout, spiny legs with two excellent red eye in these shots, that also has hump-backed stance which urged me to spend time chasing it. Hopefully we can change that with some further observation. Like other species of robber fly, it is also capable of knocking down the prey by injecting a fluid into its victims. Having this reputation, robber fly is also called assassin fly. I just saw a single robber fly on the dried twig, and it seems to be brave in handling the prey all alone. Robber fly is known as a predator of almost flying insects. It is capable of knocking down the prey by injecting a fluid into its victims. Having this reputation, robber fly is also called assassin fly. It belongs to the family Asilidae in the order Diptera.
