Ryukyu Jewel Beetle (Chrysodema dalmanni)

As it did not move quite a lot, I tried to get some shots while it was crawling on rotting twig and sometimes it moved quickly that made me wait for a couple minutes to get the whole appearance of this beetle. It is considered a common insect that lives in rotten wood, and occasionally seen around the bush but their appearance often tempted me to take shots. Knowing it was back on the spot, I started playing with some clicks, but all of sudden, it was trying to hide from my sight which made me do some effort to get its head. I finally got its body shots and head that admire me about this creature and it always attracts me with its unique appearance. It's been a while I did not deal with macro stuff, so a few days ago, I managed to capture this species of beetle using that device. Great to see this beetle with this look, and for a moment it stayed still as if it was there for me. Seeing that, I tried to take its pictures from the closest range, so that I could possibly see the unique things it has, the two big eyes and beautiful color.

Its name is as strange as its appearance. However, I find the structure of the back and top quite beautiful. Great photography.
