Today, I made my way back to the same local forest in which I believe I would find some other interesting stuff to be taken. When I walked down thru the narrow path, I notice female and male weevils were having good time on the log and I felt bad about crushing their romantical moment. These typical weevil mostly live in forests, but there are some of them that can be found in various types of habitats, including urban settlements.
It is a species of carpophagus weevil (Curculio glandium), also known as the acorn weevil. They have elongated snout, that is used for piercing. Male/Female differentiation can be determined using the rostrum as female's are longer. Since I rarely used mobile macro, I had to manage to handle the gears like the way I used to do, and I did my best to get the shot.
Having them in closest range, make them uncomfortable with my presence, and the only they did was to run away but before that, I already managed to take a few pictures of these weevil. Their look are quite impressive and unique, which urged me to hunt them down with my mobile camera. After spending some time, I was finally able to capture some pictures of these two fascinating species of weevils.
