The Blossom of Sea Purslane | 10% Beneficiary to shy-fox

Hello Good People! This afternoon, I visited the sand area near the fishermen's village. Soon I entered the lawn, I noticed sprawling perennial herb growing on the sandy clay, which was later known as sea purslane. It is considered a fast-growing plant in coastal areas across the world. It is also known as shoreline purslane but is mostly called sea purslane. This typical wild plant comes from the member sesuvium verrucosum. The sea purslane has a primary function in dune creation and is a prostrate perennial designed for life in the harsh conditions found along the coast. Its stems and leaves are especially waxy to reduce water loss and the leaves are succulent-like. Interestingly, the blossoms stay open only one day.

I realized that this little flower can be also taken as my macro photography subject. After I set the smartphone with an external macro, I started taking some photos which also required the same technique with other small subjects. The easy thing about taking flowers is that it is a steady subject but still I have to make sure that the subject really stays still and I tried to get rid of the shake by holding my breath if I wanted to get satisfying results.

Sesuvium portulacastrum is a sprawling perennial herb up to 30 centimetres (12 in) high, with thick, smooth stems up to 1 metre (3.3 ft) long. It has smooth, fleshy, glossy green leaves that are linear or lanceolate, from 10–70 millimetres (0.39–2.76 in) long and 2–15 millimetres (0.079–0.591 in) wide.source
