It is known as the Benghal dayflower or tropical spiderwort (Commelina benghalensis). The dayflower commonly lives in the wilderness or around the bush. It has a long flowering period, from spring to fall in subtropical areas, and throughout the year closer to the equator. In tropical Asia and Africa, and tends to have prominent pharmacological activities. It is characterized by its slender, creeping stems and small, blue-violet flowers that bloom during the day. Petals have thread-like filaments that look very artistic. It’s tiny, it’s underfoot, and really, it’s rather insignificant. But if the curious passerby were to halt for just a moment, and quietly crouch down to take a closer look, they’d be rewarded with a captivatingly delicate flower, of a shade of lavender most pleasing to the eye.. I took this flower when I was looking for other subjects (insects) in little wood and filling myself with the enchanting nature pieces.
