Leveraging Imaginary Lines for Better Photos

Hi everyone

Today, I want to share the results of taking my pictures in this month of Ramadan. These photos are photos of the preparation for the night of the Idul Fitri takbiran parade. I took this photo using the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 smartphone.

Even though it was taken using a smartphone, I always applied an imaginary line pattern that could place the photo object more symmetrically and be pleasing to the eye.

These imaginary lines are often referred to as the Rule of Third, where there are four lines that cut and the cut point becomes a point. We can place the photo object at that point so that our photo looks symmetrical and attractive.

In addition, we can take advantage of the frame from our photo foreground. This makes our photo better too.

You can see Rule of Third line (imaginary line) below

You don't always have to put the photo object at the cutting point * Rule of Third *, sometimes you can put the photo object in the middle, which is in the box generated by the imaginary line

You must also pay attention to the shadow of your photo object. It can present a new imaginary line as if it were a dividing mirror. You can place the object and its shadow at the cutting point of the rule of third

Apart from imaginary lines, we also have to pay attention to objects. We can also make a new line (the orange one). From that line, we can place the main object that we want to show more dominance and fullness in our photo frame
