Zizina labradus Butterfly

Zizina is a genus of butterflies belonging to the family Lycaenidae. They are impressive small butterflies. You can see how beautiful they are when their wings are spread out. The upperside wings are purplish-blue, in stark contrast to the faded brown on the underside.

If I see Zizina's butterflies perched on the grass, I won't pass up the opportunity because I will definitely take their picture. But you have to be patient with them because they are very active and fly very fast.

These photos were taken by me yesterday. I think this is the Zizina labradus species, or what is commonly called the grass blue, or clover blue.
