Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing well. As we all know, LiFe (lithium iron phosphate) battery performance tends to drop during the winter season. One of the main issues is charging the battery properly during the day, especially when there’s limited sunlight. Loose connections can further worsen the problem, as they cause energy loss and prevent the battery from charging fully.
To fix this, I decided to add thimbles to the breaker connections. I purchased a thimble plier and 24mm thimbles, then carefully clamped the thimbles onto the breaker connections. This made the connections tight and secure, ensuring they wouldn’t loosen easily unless the wires were displaced or stretched.
I did all the work myself and felt a great sense of satisfaction after completing it. Now, the battery charges more efficiently, even in winter. Here are some pictures of the process!
In my opinion, we need to be careful before problems arise, and you did the right thing by adding thimbles to fix the problem and secure the loose connections.
