      They are not very helpful are they?

      In short: read the BOT message in the comment section of the link. It says you should introduce yourself, tell everything about you, make a selfie while holding a paper with written whatever they want on it otherwise you cannot join the party but hey, there are other communities which you can join and show your art. I would say have a look and do what feels good for you.

            I would say: Explore Steemit and post what you like. It can be in your blog or with a community you feel welcome/at home. There's no need to hang around with one only. There is WOX, CCS, the Italian community, Steem for betterlife, the Freewriters, Dream Steem (if you like stories/writing), and there is knack4buzz (entertainment) and Art & Artists (new) and for sure there are many more.

            It's important to make yourself visible.

                Yes, you can post art. Paintings, photographs, music, sculptures and text like poetry, lyrics, or whatever is art/artistic to you.

                It depends on the period and how active you are but Italy is very supportive and great people. They are active and have photo contests as well.
