Hello fellow steemians, hope you are doing great. Its my delight to participate in this timely contest. Coming into steemit platform was an opportunity that i will always live to remember. This is my almost two months in steemit and steemit has changed my orientation and mentality. I will put my learning points in four headings.

WHAT STEEMIT IS ALL ABOUT?

Generally, it is noted that steemit is a blogging and social media website running on blockchain, that when the users publish posts, they are voted and rewarded with the cryptocurrency called steem. The users who make this post are expected to make quality posts with original content, something coming from their brain. And when you make such post of original content, you are very likely to be voted or curated.

This means i have to improve in my writing skills. I have acquired some skills from the platform to enable me improve in my writing skills and i will continue to improve till i get there.

HOW CAN I EARN IN STEEMIT?

When i joined steemit , it became clear to me that it is not only by writing posts and my posts being curated or voted that i can only make money in steemit. I actually learnt that there 3 major ways i can earn in steemit.

1. As i mentioned above, when you write a quality posts and your post is voted or curated, you earn author reward which pays out after seven days.

2. The second way is by investing in steem. You can buy steem and store it as steem power in your wallet, and when the steem rises, you take advantage of the price increase and resell to make more profit which can be termed trading.

3. The third way is to grow my influence by building up my steem power so that i could curate or vote other peoples posts. Because when the vote pays out, it is divided into author reward and curation reward. While the author earns author reward, i the curator earns curator reward. Participating in steemit is always a win win situation. What i need to do to benefit greatly is to build up my steem power.

PARTICIPATION IN STEEMIT

Another important point that i learnt is that i should not stick to one community. No one in steemit is restricted to be in one community. You can subscribe to as many community as you want. Of course, this exposes you to know other users on the platform.

I have also been able to learn much about steem and other cryptocurrencies and how one can invest or trade in them.

CONCLUSION

My experience is steemit has been adventurous and rewarding. To actually remain active on this plaform, you need to be patient and consistent because it is possible that not all your posts will be curated and this can be discouraging. But , with the qualities i mentioned above and the right motive, you steem on.
