Greetings friends, This time I will present my old Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 year 1977 that I acquired a couple of years ago and little by little I myself made a couple of improvements, since when I bought it it was not at its best.
The Toyota FJ40 has great sentimental value for me, because my grandfather had one and I learned to drive from it. It brings back beautiful memories and I have had a lot of fun every time I went out for a ride.
I enjoyed and learned a lot doing the repairs myself at home. Although they were small, I was very excited because I felt that little by little with my own hands I was giving back to the car that life that I had lost years ago.
Next I am going to show you some photos taken before and after my small restoration at home.
ANTES / BEFORE
The car was very deteriorated, very dirty, the leaf springs were expired and the car was practically on the floor, the wheels were worn, apart from that it had a huge oil leak in the gearbox.
The seat upholstery was badly damaged, plus it had a very small Tunning-type steering wheel, which made driving really unpleasant, as the Toyota has mechanical steering. Also the floor was very dingy, it did not have the rubber of the pedals, the indicators and accessories of the dashboard were damaged and some non-existent.
El compartimiento del motor estaba muy sucio. The engine compartment was very dirty.
The first thing I did was give it an extreme wash, then replace the leaf springs, the shocks were still in good shape. I sanded and spray painted the front headlight mask with gray spray paint, then sanded and spray painted both the front and rear bumpers, as well as parts of the front and rear axle.
I also obtained from a nearby rubber shop the sealed wheels that come from the factory with this Land Cruiser model.
Inside, I sanded and painted the entire floor of the car, the levers, put the seat covers and rubber mats on the footrest, got the original factory steering wheel, the pedal rubbers, and resale from a resale. I got the original ashtray that goes on the dash.
On the engine, first I did an extreme wash with WD40, then I spray painted black some parts such as the radiator tank, the fuel filter box, among others.
Unfortunately for reasons of family growth, recently I had to sell it. I hope in the future to be able to buy one again and renew it little by little!

Así es! de verdad que lamenté mucho venderlo, la tapicería le dí una buena limpieza y le coloqué unos forros que tenía guardados, eran de otro carro pero quedaron a la perfección! Muchas Gracias! Saludos
