Introduction
Good evening my good people of steem for Ukraine , this is my first time writing here. It's a privilege for me to partake in this amazing contest by @sergeyk as a newcomer. I hope you all find my write-up very interesting and you can learn a few from what I'll be explaining
My First Computer Game
Computer games are games played using a computer or a Laptop. Computer games are fun, I do call them "Advance Android Games" cause most of them do have higher graphics and resolution and others.
My brothers and sisters from the early 21st century that play computer games can recall a lot of popular games that came with most laptops such as Spider Solitaire, Microsoft Hearts, Chess Titans, Minesweeper, Mahjong, and many more.
The First game I played was the spider solitaire, I played it a couple of times and got tired of it and I decided to play another game, that was how I came across My First Favourite game Chess Titans

I didn't know about the game when I started, I was a complete novice or what gamers called newbie. What interests me was the pieces and the pattern of the board, I had this little attraction towards the pieces and how they were arranged, all I wanted at that moment was to know more about the game.
The game made it easier for me to learn a bit, they provided hints on every piece when you click on it so you will know where each piece can move to and how they move, I took my time studying how the pieces work and I fell in love with the game.
Origin of My First Favourite Computer Game
The history of chess can be traced back nearly 1,500 years in India which was called "Chaturanga", it represented the four division of the indian military. The game spread from India to Persia, where it was transformed to "Shatranj" gaining popularity in islamic world then eventually reaching europe.
Chess game deal with long term strategic planning planning but in the modern time it deals with quick, tactical maneuvers. The first official World Chess Championship was held in 1886. The then world chess champion ushered the game into an era of computer domination.
Since then, computer analysis, which originated in the 1970s with the first programmed chess games on the market has contributed to so much of the development in chess theory and has become an important part of preparation in professional human chess. Online chess, which first appeared in the mid-1990s, also became popular in the 21st century.
How The Game Work
The game is made up of a board called the "Chess Board" and the Pieces called the "Chess Pieces". The Board consists of 32 Black and 32 White squares with 8 small squares along each sides and The Chess Pieces consist of 6 set of pieces with 16 on each side of the board making a total 32 pieces
- The King
- The Queen
- The Rooks
- The Knights
- The Bishops
- The Pawns
The king
The King is recognized from the cross at the top of the piece or a crown shape and as the tallest piece in the game. The King is the most important piece in the game, If the King has no where to go, it's called a "Checkmate" or if the King surrenders then the game is over while threatening the King is called a "Check" and a "Stalemate" if both kings can't be isn't threatened amd has no where to go or any pieces to move or if theres no progress towards the end of the game or repetition of move by both parties thrice.
The King can only move one square at and is allowed to perform, in tandem with the Rook, a special move called castling. The King can only make this special move as his first move which means he hasn't moved anywhere throughout the game till he made the move and same goes to the rook
The Queen
She is the most powerful pieces because she can move to any square vertically, horizontally, diagonally, combining the power of a Bishop and a Rook, she can capture and piece and also check or checkmate the opponent's King.
The Rook
The Rook is recognize for the similarity in appearance to small castles, it is sometimes called a "Castle" although in modern chess, literally rarely, if ever refers to a Rook as Castle
The Rook is worth 5 Points making it the second powerful piece in the game next to the queen. The Rooks are placed at the corners of the chess board at the start of the game.
The Rook Moves to any square just like the Queen but only Vertically and Horizontally, limiting it the opportunity to capture any pieces diagonally in one move and can be Castled with the king. The Rook can also capture any of it's opponent pieces along it's vertical or horizontal path.
The Knight
The Knight is recognize by his horse-like shape and It is placed beside the Rook at the start of the game. It is worth 3 points as well as the Bishops and it's equally with the Bishop the third important piece in the game.
An interesting thing about the Knights, unlike other pieces, moves in an L shape which means they can move two squares in any direction horizontally and a square vertically or two squares vertically and a square horizontally.
The other interesting thing about the Knight is it's the only piece in chess that can jump over other pieces.
The Bishop
The Bishop is known for it's rounded top with a slit in the middle and it's placed beside the two Knight and also the King and Queen.
The Bishop is Worth 3 points same as the knights making it equally with the knights the third important piece in the game.
The Bishop moves to any square only on diagonals and can't jump over any piece. Due to the diagonal movement the Bishop is restricted to the other colour of the colour which means a bishop on the white space will remain on the white squares throughout the game and can't move to another color of square.
The Pawn
The Pawn is the most numerous and weakest piece in chess, they are also known for being the shortest pieces in the game, they occupy the second row of the board at the start of the game.
They move one square directly forward and may move two squares directly forward on it's first move and it captures one square diagonally forward.
The Pawn is the weakest but can't be taken for granted as it can get promoted by getting to the other side of the board to become any other piece of the game except itself or the King, which means it can get promoted to a Queen or Rook, a Bishop or Knight.
Rules And Regulations of my Favourite Computer Game
Just like every other games, Chess Titans also has rules abiding the game;
- The game always begin with White followed by the black and it goes on.
- Players can only move one piece at a time regardless of anything.
- Pieces are captured only when you occupy the same area of your opponent pieces, pieces aren't captured by crossing a piece
These are the 3 major rules to play the game of chess
Conclusion
It's my pleasure sharing chess as my first favourite computer game cause of how it builds the brain and it's a very tactical game that you need to be calculative before making a move so that your king won't end up die unworthy.
I hope I get another opportunity to explain more on how to be better in the game of chess. I really do appreciate this opportunity given to me, feel free to ask about anything if you do not understand a section or part of this write-up and also feel free to drop any additional statement(s) that I may have missed
