Koto Tinggi, the area that was once the capital city of Indonesia

The name Koto Tinggi in Limapuluh Kota Regency is indeed not as popular as other areas in West Sumatra such as Mandeh on the South Coast which is synonymous with the beauty of its beaches or Pariangan in Tanah Datar which is famous for its natural beauty. However, the nagari which is located in a row of Bukit Barisan is able to anesthetize the visiting tourists.

Entering the area in Gunung Omeh District, visitors are spoiled for green and yellow views. The green leaves blend nicely with the yellow color of citrus fruits that are ready to be harvested.

Local sincere greetings and smiles provide warmth from the typical mountain air at 1,525 meters above sea level. The body's fatigue due to a long journey of about four hours using four wheels from the city of Padang was immediately cured.

In addition to its natural beauty, Koto Tinggi also keeps a history that is inseparable from the journey of the Indonesian people. Not many know, this Nagari was the capital city of the Republic of Indonesia during the Emergency Government of the Republic of Indonesia (PDRI) in 1948.

PDRI was formed December 22, 1948 in Halaban Limapuluh Kota. This was caused by the Dutch aggression that captured the Dwi Tunggal Soekarno Hatta. To prevent a leadership vacuum from occurring, Syafruddin Prawiranegara as the Minister of the Economy who was in Bukittinggi at that time took the initiative to act immediately and continue to inform the world of Indonesia's existence.

now to commemorate the PDRI In Koto Tinggi a museum was established which it is hoped that young Indonesians can learn about Indonesian history. and this time I went with GNPF members to the museum. Here are some photos that I can share in this post.
