Hi everyone!
This is the 11th part of my series of writings about uncommon sea creatures. Today I would like to talk about the Giant Spider Crab which is also called the Japanese Spider Crab.

They are the largest crabs in the world ever existed. A single Japanese Spider Crab can grow up to 12 feet and can live at 100 years or even more.

These crabs can be found 50 to 600 meters under the seawater in the coastal area of the pacific ocean near Japan. The weight of these crabs can grow up to 20 kilograms at maximum.

They can camouflage themselves using their surrounding environment. An interesting fact about the giant spider crab is they change their exoskeleton as they grow.

The exoskeleton can't grow with their body growth for this reason they shed their exoskeleton by molting. This stage is risky for them because their soft body gets exposed. But within a few weeks, their asking again gets hardened. The main food of this Algae and Mollusca

Thanks for reading my post. Hope that you have learned something new. If you have ever seen this sea fascinating creature then comment below and let me know about it.😀

Best regards
