Hi everyone! This is the 15th part of my series of short writings about uncommon sea creatures. Today I would like to talk about the Goblin Shark.

It's a rare type of shark species that roam around in the deep seawater and is the only remaining member of their family, others are extinct and found as fossils.

It's a frightening sea creature that can extend its jaw at the speed of 10 feet per second only can be seen in slow-motion video records. This extended jaw can increase its 9% of the original body size. But they are kind of slow swimmer fish.

The average size of the goblin fish stays 10- 14 feet and the maximum can reach up to 18 feet from the records. They can detect their prey using their nose at 4000 feet below underwater.

It can detect the electromagnetic wave using the nose of the prey such as the heartbeats of the prey. Most of the Goblin Shark can be found near Japan and Newzealand although they are scattered throughout the whole globe.

Thanks for reading my post. Hope that you have learned something new. If you have ever seen this sea fascinating creature then comment below and let me know about it.😀

Best regards
