Hi everyone!
This is the 8th part of my series of writings about uncommon sea creatures. Today I would like to talk about the "Ringed Pipefish" which is fantastically colored and has a flagtail.

The reason it is called ringed pipefish is that it is long-bodied fish and has bone-like armor around the body which looks identical to rings. These fishes have long tubular snouts and smallmouth which is also similar to the seahorses.

Its whole body consists of a single dorsal fin along with a small tail fin. The body length of this fish depends on the species which is starting from one to twenty-six inches long.

This amazing colored fish can be found in the Indo Pacific oceans also in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, etc. The food list of these fishes is commonly shrimp, crab, snail, etc. Interestingly the ringed pipefishes also don't have stomachs like seahorses.

Thanks for reading my post. Hope that you have learned something new. If you have ever seen this sea fascinating creature then comment below and let me know about it.😀

Best regards
