6 WHOEVER ABIDES IN HIM DOES NOT SIN. WHOEVER SINS HAS NEITHER SEEN HIM NOR KNOWN HIM.
7 Little children, let no one deceive you. HE WHO PRACTICES RIGHTEOUSNESS IS RIGHTEOUS, JUST AS HE IS RIGHTEOUS.
8 HE WHO SINS IS OF THE DEVIL, FOR THE DEVIL HAS SINNED FROM THE BEGINNING. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.
9 WHOEVER HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD DOES NOT SIN, FOR HIS SEED REMAINS IN HIM; AND HE CANNOT SIN, BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN BORN OF GOD."
1 John 3:6-9 (NKJV)
• A genuine believer in Christ Jesus would have no inclination or disposition for sinning, but the possibility of sinning would still be there.
- A genuine believer in Christ Jesus would not be going about committing Sin, or living habitually in Sin, because the Seed of God, God's life, is in him or her: "THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN BORN INTO GOD'S FAMILY DO NOT MAKE A PRACTICE OF SINNING, BECAUSE GOD'S LIFE IS IN THEM. SO THEY CAN'T KEEP ON SINNING, BECAUSE THEY ARE CHILDREN OF GOD" (1 John 3:9 (NLT).
- If such, however, permitted the flesh, exposed himself or herself to the evil system of the world, and the devil; the possibility of falling into Sin is certain.
- A believer's body is positionally crucified with Christ Jesus: "KNOWING THIS, THAT OUR OLD MAN WAS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM, THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DONE AWAY WITH, THAT WE SHOULD NO LONGER BE SLAVES OF SIN" (Romans 6:6 NKJV).
"WE KNOW THAT OUR OLD SINFUL SELVES WERE CRUCIFIED WITH CHRIST SO THAT SIN MIGHT LOSE ITS POWER IN OUR LIVES. WE ARE NO LONGER SLAVES TO SIN."
Romans 6:6 (NLT)
READ: Galatians 2:20; 5:24
- What is shared in the just mentioned passage of the Bible is the positional state of a Believer in Christ Jesus. However, he or she would have to work daily on the self in order to experience this.
- In other words, a believer would not be desiring or craving to commit Sin, but If he or she indulged the flesh, allowed himself or herself to be influenced by the world and its system, or be exposed to the temptations of the devil; such a believer could easily fall into Sin.
- A genuine believer would not wake up and be looking for the opportunity to commit Sin, but If he or she is not circumspect or careful enough; they may find themselves in Sin.
- This is where those who teach that once saved is saved, got it wrong. You As a believer is crucified with Christ Jesus quite all right, but since you are still living in the flesh, because the flesh or your body is not regenerated; the possibility of sinning is still there.
- Thus, you have a responsibility not to expose yourself to things that could arouse your flesh. You mortify or silence the flesh by staying away from certain things and places, that the flesh might not be awaken or aroused (Colossians 3:5).
- The mortification of the flesh is a thing that every believer needed to do daily throughout their Journey in life. The flesh has the possibility or potentiality of being awakened when it is exposed to temptations; the things in the world: "DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD OR THE THINGS IN THE WORLD. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him" (1 John 2:15 NKJV).
- You may not be inclined to do certain things, but If you keep the company with the wrong people, or visit certain places you ought not to, or expose your eyes to certain content, you might be moved or aroused or influenced to commit Sin.
- Consequently, being born-again does not immune your body to Sinning. If your body is not shielded, you find yourself relapsed or reverted to those Sins you claimed to have forsaken.
• Thus, a believer should strive to experience physically, what positionally he or she is, in Christ Jesus.
- Positionally you have been crucified with Christ Jesus, you are reckoned or considered to be dead to Sin (Romans 6:11-13). But experientially, this had to be worked out:
12 THEREFORE, MY BELOVED, AS YOU HAVE ALWAYS OBEYED, NOT AS IN MY PRESENCE ONLY, BUT NOW MUCH MORE IN MY ABSENCE, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING; 13 FOR IT IS GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU BOTH TO WILL AND TO DO FOR HIS GOOD PLEASURE" (Philippians 2:12 NKJV). - The desire and power to do God's Will, what pleases Him, is in you As a Believer in Christ Jesus. But it has to be worked out in your life for you to experience it practically. Your inward Man, human spirit, is regenerated and cannot Sin, but your flesh is not.
- The lusts, or desires, for Sin is still lurking in your flesh. Thus, you had to offer the flesh As a living Sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1).
- It is this working aspect that a lot of professed believers find difficult to do. When you indulged the flesh, you surely would reap corruption: "FOR HE WHO SOWS TO HIS FLESH WILL OF THE FLESH REAP CORRUPTION, BUT HE WHO SOWS TO THE SPIRIT WILL OF THE SPIRIT REAP EVERLASTING LIFE" (Galatians 6:8 NKJV).
- When you exposed yourself to the x rated videos on line, you are indirectly feeding or sowing to your flesh, you are going to reap corruption which would lead to death.
• You will not end in destruction in Jesus' name. And you will not fail in your assignment in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your life, today marks the end of it in the mighty name of Jesus.
- Every hold of sicknesses or diseases is broken completely now, in Jesus' name.
Peace!
