SECS 8 Week #4 | The mental health of a content creator - @janemorane

Hello Beautiful People!

Today I am going to participate in the steemit Enagagement challenge, Season#8, Week#4. The contest theme given to us by the STEEMIT HEALTH Community which is mental health for a content creator. We as content creators should have knowledge about why it is so important for a content creator to maintain mental health.

1- How do you feel when creating content? Is it a pleasant experience for you or, on the contrary, does it generate anxiety and discouragement?


I feel very energetic and proud when creating some content because content creation is itself a great job. Personally I enjoyed writing content a lot. My content creation journey started from steemit and I must say that I have improved a lot with steemit.

It's always a pleasure to share your thoughts on various topics with different people around the world. Content creation is never a discouragement but it always motivates me to write more and more of good stuff.

Not at all, content creation never led me to anxiety but it always helped me when I had anxiety. I start writing posts and bringing my heart out and it literally helps me decrease my anxiety and make me feel really good because when I have no one to share my feelings with, my blog is always there for me in which I can share the hardest situation that I face in my life.


2- Have you ever felt mentally exhausted by generating content on a daily basis? Tell us about your experience.


Anything you do daily, again and again makes you feel exhausted because I as a human don’t really like to abide by something and such restrictions made me feel exhausted.

Most of the time I am not ready to make a post because of some difficulties or sometimes my mind literally stops working and then I am unable to write anything and those are the times when my mind is blank but I have to post and that's why I don’t really like this daily posting schedule.

But when my mind is fresh and I am free then I really enjoy daily writing and feel really excited for each day and a new post. Thinking about a new topic each day and then making it more elaborated is just what I love about daily writing that you never get away with.

So yes, most of the time it's exhausting and pressurising that I have to post no matter what and this pressure is what I hated the most but other days I feel happy and blessed that at least I have some platform where I can share my thoughts and it feels like a job to me.

3- What do you feel when your content is not valued as you expect it to be? Does this affect you mentally?


A content creator is an artist itself, the artist creates art to inspire others and so the content writers do. They inspire and give motivation to others by their writings. After writing the whole post with so much effort, consuming a lot of time, making yourself adjusted just to make that one post and when no one even notices your post kinda feels demotivating.

Most of the time I create a perfect post both in writing and the pictures too, work on the markdowns, check each spelling and everything that is required for a perfect post but, when I post it and then like zero response.

That's the time of a heart break and most of the time it becomes the reason for most of the content creators who stop creating content just because their content is devalued.

When I create a post and it is not recognized it doesn’t affect me at all but when it continues to happen and like most of my posts are not valued and it is happening in a row then it starts to affect me mentally. I feel like I am not a good content creator and I am not creating something worth it and that’s why it's not getting recognized and valued anymore.

4- What would be your recommendations for a content creator to keep a healthy mind?


As a content creator myself I would love to give some suggestions to content creators to keep their mind healthy,

  • It is important for a content creator to not overload themselves, keep it simple, it's not necessary to post daily and come up with the best and perfect post each time. One should work according to their capabilities and do not restrict their life to creating content only.
  • A good content is only created when your mind and body is relaxed from any kind of stress and anxiety, when you will make your work affect you then you can no more create unique and good content. You need a break when tired because your health should be your first priority. If you don’t feel relaxed anymore you can not create perfect content.
  • No one is perfect and knows about everything so it's important for a content creator to spread their social circle in order to gain more information and benefit from the experiences and expertise of other people.
  • Keeping yourself open to others to share and you to receive information because again we are human and we are not perfect, it will keep your mind open and maybe you can learn more and add new things to your blog.
  • Last but not the least, exercise because when you exercise you get new ideas and feel fresh and relaxed and it's important that you exercise before and after writing something to free yourself from any kind of stress and anxiety.

I agree with your point of view content writing gave us pleasure and mental calm, we felt anxiety free.

Like you i also started writing whenever i am in depressions it feels me very good as i got busy in a wonderful tasks.
