I would like to share an informative post related to lungs which is considered as the most vital organs of the body.So let's start!
Lungs function and location
Lungs is the most important organ present in body that is used for respiratory purpose.It is a vital organ for respiration.Breathing is another word used for respiration.

If we don't breathe then we will die that's why for breathing properly lungs are most important
Lungs are present at 1/4th side of heart and is located just with cardiac notch.
Blood in lungs
Lungs are responsible for carrying specific blood means lungs have specific blood carrying capacity.There is both oxygenated and deoxygenated blood present in our arteries and veins respectively.

Lungs carry deoxygenated blood from heart as we all know that in lungs there is an oxygen content present that's why when heart pumps deoxygenated blood from its one chamber into lungs then lungs make it oxygenated by combining O2 molecules with blood and after that it returns oxygenated blood to heart so heart pumps oxygenated blood to body parts in return.
Respiratory diseases
There are different respiratory diseases that are related to lungs or respiratory system.Some of the most comment diseases I am narrating here:
- Emphysema.
- Lung cancer.
- Tuberculosis.
Emphysema
Emphysema is destruction of the alveoli.
It's important to know about alveoli.So alveoli are the important structures responsible for carrying or absorbing oxygen from tissues.
During emphysema alveoli destruction occurs and alveoli most commonly fills with pus in this situation.
Lung cancer
Generally cancer is defined as increase or excessive growth of cells more than requirement.So lung cancer is excessive growth of cells in lungs and it is due to carcinogens.

Carcinogens are the cancer containing substances like nicotine and tobacco.
Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis is caused by a bacterium so it's a bacterial disease but it can affect other organs also.
Most common affect of tuberculosis disease causing bacteria is on lungs that's why we can say it's a lungs disease.
