When I dream, I dream BIG
CHUNGUS THAT IS
This is a comment I left to a user that had been getting flagged and went out of their way give me an award. Ummm yeah, a scumbag award
In addition, they seem to be slandering damn near everybody. If they knew my momma's name, bet she'd have a post up, too.I kid
No, I'm not just trying to rip on them but rather would like to see them come around. Perhaps, it's a pipe dream but one could hope. Anyways, since their rep has already been tanked.
Figured I may as well offer this olive leaf.
As oft I battle with some of the personas around here, I think it is usually best to seek reconciliation with others. Sometimes, there are factors that preclude this from occurring such as unabating vitriol but if I feel that there is a remote chance that I can get through to someone. It's worth a shot at least.
It doesn't always pan out and my colleagues have on occasion had to ping me to disengage. It's fuzzy right now but believe either @iamstan or @enforcer48 may have checked me a time or two. I don't know if I've grown more stern in my few years here as some folks like to entertain the notion that I'm some sort of jerk. I mean I can be on occasion but I wouldn't say it is something intrinsic to my nature.
Anyways, this isn't about me. This about restoration and rehabilitation. Of course, that is only for those that desire such a thing which requires a man to humble. This generally isn't an trivial thing for a man to do. It takes guts or what they call intestinal fortitude.
I hope @pocket-change takes me up on the offer to help. If not, I can dust my shoes off so to speak.
Yes, it's a silly response which I would like to call wonderfully absurd.
Bruh,
This blockchain is a really fun place but try go learn to treat the reward pool with a bit more reverence and maybe engage.
Don't try to take shortcuts that put us at odds. Try to build relationships. We're not the flag boogeyman. We're just folk trying to make our way and we value honesty.
How people curate says a lot about their character especially when the one they are choosing to curate is themselves w bots.
Think we have grown weary of the narcissist constantly self-bidding types and that was part of the impetus behind HF 21.
I don't think what you are doing is very profitable and sincerely hope you decide to change your course.
We'd welcome you but you would probably wanna ditch this account since the rep is tanked. Maybe, pocket-changed would be a suitable username or whatever you want.
I'd be happy to provision an account for your myself. @bigchungus is available. Hell, I'm not doing anything with it.
I could give you posting auth and maybe you could do something cool w it. Gotta think BIG though. >Be a BIGGER CHUNGUS than the BIGGEST CHUNGUS.
(You gotta watch the video to get it)
If you earn my trust, I'll even turn it over to you. Think about it.
You do know the meme, right?
You can say I am extending the olive leaf but its up to you whether you want to accept it or not.
Here was the video where I heard about the meme. It was a case of "Well Played" if I ever saw it!....Oh hey, pun
If I ever got my hands on Big Chungus the game, I would keep it right next to my super rare BattleToads on the Wii. Best Game Ever.
P.S. Anybody else having issues uploading images to @busy.org? I'll probably stop by their Discord and see what's because it hasn't been working for at least a few days. Hopefully, they get it fixed.
As I was putting the tags into this post, I had a epiphany which resulted in this:
https://steemd.com/@humongouschungus
@pocket-change, that can be all yours!
That is so much Chungus that you won't know what to do with it!
If you treat the brand with respect, I WILL delegate. I'm know it's a pretty big role to fill but just believe in yourself!
Rewards on this post will go to @humongouschungus so he may grow into a BIG BOI!
Would you like to delegate to the Steem Flag Rewards project and promote decentralized moderation?
It's much more fashionable than self-voting.
Busy does appear to be goosed on the images front. I watched the 'big chungus to-be' with great merriment last night!

@adetorrent posted recently about how all his images have disappeared on Busy, yes.
Are you sure that name is right above it doesn't seem to lead anywhere!

Yeah I hope they scrapping old images. I've been seeing concerning signs on chain to be perfectly honest. The Beem libraries not being maintaining, API rate limiting and now this. I don't exactly got the good feelz.
It's not FUD but anticipating more things to slowly disappear. I'm gonna do something about the images hopefully they are still there.
Gonna create a script for people to use that eill download everything. So even Busy pulls the plug. No biggie. Also considering providing my own hosting solution using Siacoin but it'll be cheap but not free.
Oh, yeah you're absolutely right abouy the user. I put a dot when it waa supposed to be a hyphen. My bad

I think they turned off their IPFS server, or limited it in some way.. so you can't upload new images unto it. Also most of the recently uploaded images are gone.
At this point I wouldn't even trust Steemit's server either. If you have access to Flickr or something similar, then maybe use that.

This is kind of concerning. I mentioned a while back about creating a script to archive our blog by cycling through our history and downloading images. Now, I think I'll do that and share. I do not want my work to be a link graveyard and I'm sure others feel the same.

That would be super useful. The damage is done on Busy already, but I guess the rest can be protected.

Wait so if I go to old busy posts. Gonna be a lot of dead links? SAY IT AIN'T SO!
I don't want to believe it.

Are you suggesting aliens possibly abducted our images?

This guy is one of several who we have called out for leeching/milking the rewards pool and then goes on a crusade against us for violating them. He's not even brave enough to do a new post on his main account i in case we flag it. I only flag to reduce unearned rewards or some cases of spam and really nasty attacks on people. He is free to vent his opinions, but may not find much support. The mood of Steem has changed. There are bigger fish doing similar things, but we tackle those where we can have an effect. It's up to the community to decide if they want to help us out.

Hate to say it but I think these people are on a race to the bottom and taking us for the ride.
They don't care about what we care about, @steevc. It's a bummer but seems time is the revealer of people and their true intentions. I am concerned that it may not be too far off when nodes start getting unplugging due to the constant dowmward pressure and cost to run. We will eventually hit that point unless something drastic is done.
We just a plan to preserve this place and out work. Obv I can't run a $200-$600 a month server the way the blockchain is designed.
But i think we get all post data, all comment data, and all balances, a snapshot if you will. Migrate that data to a pristine chain but old post/comments in some sort of cheaper storage medium (regular ol magnetic drives).
I think this place can survive the flood if you. Or SMTs make some difference.
In either scenerio, we oughtta hope for yhe best but ALWAYS prepare for the worst.

We do seem to be treading water with just a few thousand active users. Steem is a minnow in social media. The low price does not help, but we need some tipping point to get real growth. That may be some influencer joining up and selling the idea of Steem.
I think the accounts milking Steem like this guy are a small minority, but we obviously see a lot of them. That can give a from picture.
It would help retain people if there was less automatic voting to fixed accounts. Those who want to automate should follow a decent curation project that actually seeks out good content that deserves more rewards. You might make less from curation that easy, but we need what is best for Steem if we want really big profits.
Keep the faith!

That's a damn good idea, @steevc. I don't want to be the late voters so I may devise a script for that. Gonna get @slobberchops chops bot back up first. I should be easy. Just a matter of taking code I have in other scripts. Pull a Dr. Frankenstein if you will.
