As a major and warring issue today, many are faced with lonely days most at times and they often find it hard to cope with loneliness. They feel it has become a normal part of their lives and that they need to adapt. If you're facing similar situation, how can you deal with that problem?

It's a beautiful day and all your friends are having a good time. It seems you're the one left out and stuck alone at home. Being among the uninvited is bad you may say. It seems something is wrong with you. Why doesn't anyone wants my company you may ask.

To be frank, we all face that loneliness at times. Rather than remain stuck, you can build bridges as loneliness can kill you silently. It can make you react less to situations and other negative Effects. It can also affect your mental health if care isn't taken.

Chasm of loneliness
  • A negative view of yourself.
  • Shyness
  • Disagreeable behavior
How to deal with these chasm?

To deal with;

  • A negative view of yourself: It's normal for people to have negative view about themselves although remaining positive is encouraged. You may feel;
  • I'm not smart and so can't join that reading team. I prefer reading on my own
  • I don't think they'll appreciate anything I contribute or bring
  • I'm not even handsome and social
  • No one likes me and I don't see anything worthwhile I'll add to any conversation.
  • I'm just a total loser.

Is that the way you feel? Some youths including me do feel this way too but is there anyway to salvage that situation? Yes there's.

How? Focusing on your assets: Ask yourself what your strengths are and avoid dwelling on your weaknesses. Those feelings of you being negative can weigh you down and put you into your shell. I was big time victim of loneliness but thank God for these bridges.

Think about some qualities or beautiful talents you possess. These positive thoughts would give you self confidence to overcome negative thoughts and feel among.

  • Shyness: It's also normal for us to be shy at times but can it be overcome? Yes. Shyness is one major subject of loneliness. It contribute to loneliness the most. You may love to start a conversation with someone but when the opportunity arises, you seem to be mute.

How can you deal with this? Start by showing genuine interest in just one person irrespective of the age which you shouldn't limit yourself to. The more you reach out, the less lonely you feel. From one person, you'll gather courage to face others. The third chasm and how it can be dealt with would be broadly emphasized in my next post.

Very interesting

I think reading self-help books and investing time in ourselves to do what we love is really helpful to get over those situations.

@bossj23 , You have written very beautifully. Negative thoughts are behind it.

God gave us such a beautiful and great gift, which is our mind and is our best friend since our lives change once we change our way of thinking and we always treat each other with love and encouragement, I do I can, I am capable and we change that image that we have inside. Everything we say and think is programming a very strong machine that is our mind. The world is full of abundance, they will always see a stumbling block, cheer up, you can, nice post.
