contest! : "To spend or not to spend"

I hope everyone is fine? If that so thank God for life, it is my pleasure to see this kind of amazing contest organised by @ruthjoe in this wonderful community. It is the responsibility of any government to provide what their citizen needs in their respective area, doing this will improve the life of their citizen in the country.

Tell us one thing in your country you believe the government should spend money on but doesn't.

Government should always be their to response to the need of the peoples, helping them at the difficult time will let the citizen trust such government. Government were elected by the peoples and they elected them because they believe they are capable to provide them what they need. Their are so many things that government have abandoned and they are not look back again to find solution to such problem.

Our basic amenities is not meet the standard of developed nation because they lavish the money excessively to the things that is not important. So these are the following things that our government doesn't spend money to.

• Health care facility: Health care facility which is one of the most important social amenities that government must provide to their citizen. Adequate health facility will save so many life, this must also be affordable for the poor peoples in rural area so that they can have access to full medical health benefits.

• Education: Education is very important because it will improve the economy of our country and it will also contribute to development of a country. If you have went to a tour before and you pass through some rural area you would notice some dilapidated school that government does not have the aim to rebuild so as a result of this children from that community will not have access to good quality education because government totally neglected them.

• Unemployment: In Nigeria youth suffered a lot, we graduated from Nigeria university no job, you need to buy job if you get money but if you don't have money you are on your own. Government should have special package for the peoples who just graduate from the university so that it will reduce the unemployment rates in the country.

Tell us one thing they shouldn't spend money on but do.

Government spend public fund lavishly on the things that is not necessary, this present adminstration used our money that is meant for public basic amenities to do their sons and daughters wedding which is not supposed to be. Government should stop spending lavishly on the program that is not improve the life of their citizen.

Nigeria is blessed with mineral resource and we don't need to borrow from international body we can rely on what God have given us but the reverse is the case. Government spend a lot of money during the campaign period, they will begin to distribute billions of naira to the strong men in our society for them to emerge as the winners.

In addition, in some part of the country thuggery use to collect huge amount of salary monthly for the job they have done for them and they even have access to government house where nobody including security personnel stop them not to enter.

All this is not necessary instead of them to divert the money to some useful things like providing good road, adequate heath facility, school, public library etc

• Good road: Government really tried in road network, this present adminstration provide their citizen with good road so that it can easy the movement of peoples from one place to another. In fact in Osun state they have the best road in which the government spent a lot of money to construct road in order to easy the movement of goods and passengers.

Government in some part of the country did their best in constructing major road within their state and they also make some necessary step to monitor such project in order to make sure the contractors use quality material.

• Infrastructure: Government built different infrastructure to the best taste of their citizen, in Kano state their government tried in term of infrastructure by constructing different fly over to beautify their state. Infrastructure contribute to the development of a country but we are not yet met the developed nation, here in Nigeria is gradual process and I hope we will soon reach that top.

Corruption is the great disease that is affecting us we must fight this if we want to live meaningful life. Those who embezzle public fund should be arrested and they must face full wrath of law.

Conclusion

Nigeria is a great country where it consists of many tribes, but the major tribe is Yoruba, Hausa and Igbo. These tribes were living in unity but the major problem we are currently facing now is bad government. I invite @onomzy001, @bela90 and @salifu to come and participate in this contest.
