My Neighborhood Watch #68 - Reporting Events Around us

Hello friends and welcome.

Few days ago my room mate drew my attention a house besides our compound and she reiterated how the house was under renovation. Renovation? I asked cos it was at night. I was suprised and I asked her since when cos I know I took note of some persons living there not quite long as I watched as they drew water from the well in the compound.

I was taken aback as I peeped in the darkness of the night to see that there was no longer anyone in the compound. Infact the entire roof of the houses was pulled out. I just had a rethink hoping that these occupants got enough time to get somewhere else to live cos getting a house in Lagos these days is quiet something.

I was sleeping this morning as sounds of breaking and loud bang of falling walls interrupted my sleep. I had to hurriedly get to the balcony to take a look at what was the reason for the chaotic sound only to see that this building that has over twenty rooms was been demolished.

There were plenty of guys with sledge hammers hammering at the walls of the building. I stood for some observing them battering those walls and the magnificence with which the walls came crashing down was a site to behold.

This was happening in the morning and these guys worked tirelessly all through the day battering these building and bringing it down. It wasn’t until the evening I had to take a peek to see how far they have gone only to see that the building was almost down as you can see in the later picture.

What did you hear about Lagos and traffic? I was bored and decide to talk a little trip down town to go and eat only to meet a a traffic jam of unexplainable cause. The junction of my street has a traffic of over a mile. The strange thing is that there’s rarely traffic on this road but todays own was crazy.

I walked pass the traffic to get to another junction where I would board a bus to just somewhere not far from home praying to not meet any traffic but voila, here I was also stuck in the same traffic. So this traffic jam litterall went round the whole Bariga to Akoka down to unilag gate.

After I got to my destination, to eat, few persons where in the place I went to eat, so I got my food ate and started my journey back home only to meet the same traffic after two hours. It’s a lot actually. Lagos state and traffic are like identical twins. Literally we think some of the traffics are caused by spirits probably bad spirits cos you would get pass the traffic only to litterally find out that nothing was causing the traffic.

That’s all that for events that happened around me today. Thanks for stopping by as I ask @jovits30, @divinelife and @juliusinimotimi to participate in this contest.
