My Neighborhood Watch #51 - Reporting Events Around us

My heart warming greetings goes to all the steemians in this community and beyond. It's week 51 in my Neighborhood Watch contest consistently organized by @xkool24, and I'm delighted to participate.

Today, I want to report about the sad event that took place in my Neighborhood. A young lady by name Roseline Akpabio Udo Ndem, who's a comrade, and a member of The salvation army church was buried today. Full report below with some photographs of the live event👇🏾.

On my way to the gym this morning, i saw a well of 6 feet deep, just nearly opposite my house, and i found some water in it. I wasn't surprised because we're living in a swamp area, where we easily locate salty water after 3 feet digging. My question here was "Who would dig such a well in this rainy season, and what could be the purpose of this"?

Along the street, i saw a burial poster pasted on the wall, that's when i knew that the well i saw is a grave digged for this young lady's corpse. "Hmm, people are about to mourn and cry today" i said to myself. Roseline is just 48 years old, she's survived by her husband (chief mourner) and 3 children who's alive to mourn her untimely death.

The burial of Roseline was held today being 8th of june at central school, Ifa-Atai etoi, after big junction, Airport road uyo, Akwa Ibom State. Friends, relatives and the church as a whole all came to witness this unwanted and most hated event. After the Biblical consolation was done at the primary school, the ambulance drove the corpse down to my neighbourhood for proper burial.

Immediately the ambulance arrived with the corpse, she was taken out by the pallbearers down to the grave side. Two men were inside the grave who helped in dropping down the heavy corpse on the floor. I saw this buried Roseline 3 months ago with her husband, coming to sow some seed. But today, she's buried on that same land she laboured for, what a world😢.

After the casket was placed on the floor and the two men jumped out, the pastor approached the grave side to say his prayers. At the end of his prayer, he said "God gives and God takes". It's true that God gives life, but is it true that God takes life as he said? The Bible says NO to this. God can never take away life from what He spent hours in creating.

After the pastor's prayer, the drummers took their drumming sticks and trumpet to play, while the two men pour the sand inside the grave till it was full. At this moment, the deceased family cried bitterly, especially the small boy. I won't lie, tears dropped from my eyes seeing that young boy crying and calling on his dear mother "Mummy, who'll prepare me breakfast for school on Monday?, please don't leave me😢". I couldn't watch this young boy any longer, i had to leave when the sand fulled the grave.

On my way back home, i overheard some women accusing the husband for her wife's untimely death. Why? Because he bought a new car 1 month after the wife died, coming to the burial he drove another brand. I can't tell right now if what they're saying is true or not, because there's no evidence to back it up. Whatever happens concerning the matter arising, I'll always keep you guys updated. This is my eyewitness report for june 8th 2024.
