We celebrate valentine's day on the 14th February to mark the anniversary of St valentine's death, the brief history of St valentine's states that he was executed for refusing to deny christ by the order of the "Emperor Claudius" in the year 269.

Before his head was cut off, this valentine restored sight and hearing to the daughter of his jailer.

The death of St valentine because of the love for Christ made the world describe it as that he died for love. And it is because of this that his feast day has become misunderstood with romance.

MEANING OF LOVE

Love is the emotional feeling that a person has for another person, love is the feeling that an individual has for his neighbor. Love involve care and concern for one another. There are different kinds of love.

1. Agape love : agape love is the kind of love God has for man. It by is the type of love that God developed and practice towards humanity. This is the kind of love that exists among the children of God. They care for themselves with Godliness but not lust.

REASONS WHY VALENTINE DAY'S CELEBRATION IS A MISTAKENLY CELEBRATED

1. Valentine day is believed to lust day but not the day of love.

2. Valentine day 's celebration has instigated a lot of unwanted pregnancy among you ladies in our society today.

3. With the understanding of romance that has been associated with valentine's day , when people hear of valentine anytime, they think of sex, kissing, jesting and unnecessary struggle of buying romantic gifts for sexual partners.

4. Valentine day's celebration made agape love to be replaced by lust.
