ACTIVE READING

Active reading is a type of reading that involves the reader being interactive with the texts he or she is reading this there transforms the experience from an active one to a passive.

When reading one should use questions to make the study material more active, also taking notes and highlighting the key points.

TIME MANAGEMENT

Time management is another important effective study technique that makes studying most efficient.

I cannot stress more the importance of a schedule especially in the school environment where there is a lot of freedom and distracting activities.

Without a schedule it might seem like we do not have enough time in the day to do other activities let alone study effectively and efficiently.

Knowing when to read and how long to read for that best suite your reading time, this allows you to create and maintain a good study habit.

NOTE-TAKING

Note-taking is the jotting down or writing down or highlighting important and specific facts and details so as to make it easier to memorize the main points.

When teaching or in books the writer or lecturer might dim it fit to use illustrations, examples, tell a story, joke or use a figure of speech to make sure you understand fully

or do not get bored and loose concentration or focus but your knowledge or exams or test won't be judged on the joke the teacher made or story this is why although you understand the illustration,

You only need the main points written or highlighted in the notes inorder to effectively study that material or learnt from that class.

SCANNING AND SKIMMING

Have you ever been to a Library in search of a book or study material you are hoping will contain a piece of information or a sentence you can't quite recall but you know you will once you see it.

This can be very hard but when you are faced with this kind of challenge the best and most effective study method or technique to use is scanning.

Scanning allows you to search quickly with a keen sight for a specific word or group of words.

While skimming involves quickly and speedily going through the content to get an overview idea on the book you are about to study.

This study technique is very important because it saves you time and energy from reading or studying a book only to find out you don't like it or you didn't find the information you wanted.

TEACHING

There is a saying that says the best way to learn something is to teach it, yes teaching is a very good study technique .

When you learn something new and you don't want to forget and want it to be as natural as the back of your palm.

Teach the new concept even though you don't have an audience imagine you are teaching it to a child, and one thing about children is that they ask a lot of questions.

So make up these questions and answer them as simple and easy to understand as you would to a child and this will prove very effective and efficient.
