Hello Everyone!, I’m so excited to join this week "Do It Yourself 👉Drawing" to share with you all my drawing of a praying mantis!

• Have you ever seen one before? These kind of fascinating insects are much known for their unique appearance and their interesting behaviors. They certainly belong to the class called Insecta and the kingdom Animalia. A Praying mantises have a much distinctive triangular head, a long neck, and then a large front legs that they use to catch their prey.

Step 1:

I practically start by well setting up my drawing space. I grab a perfect clean drawing sheet from my desk, a lucky star biro, and then a picture of a praying mantis to use as a reference from my Phone📱. Having a much clearer picture helps me so well to understand what I need to draw!

Step 2:

Next in line, I do well sketch a stick for the praying mantis to stand on as it'll helps make it dynamic and I think they do like jumping on sticks. I keep it really simple at first, drawing a straight line and then adding some details to make it really look like a long branch cut off.

Step 3:

Now here, I sketch out the head of my praying mantis. I did draw kind of triangular shape with two big eye to give it a bit friendly look.

Step 4:

After that, I then move on to the body give it a dynamic ambiance. The body is a bit long and slender, so I definitely draw a long oval shape that connects to the head.

Step 5:

Finally, I add the praying mantis legs and then polish my drawing so well. My praying mantis has six legs as the real ones, and I make sure to really position them in a way that more likely looks natural. I then add some shading and a details to make it look more realistic when looking at.

Praying Mantis Economic Importance to Humanity

The Praying mantises are really not just fun to draw alone as I did; they do have economic importance to mankind and nature as a whole!
They helps well to control pests in the gardens and farms by eating some insects like the flies and mosquitoes. This incredibly makes them valuable for the farmers who want to protect their crops just without using of chemicals.

Drawing a praying mantis is more enjoyable but then it also reminds us of their unique and important role to nature. I do hope you enjoyed my very drawing process and also learned a bit about these very amazing insects!
