Introduction
Leading a country has to be the most tasking job there is. It shoulders a whole lot of responsibilities that one cannot ordinarily carry alone.
As a president, you have a lot of MDAs existing to relieve the stress of doing everything alone. But before such a task or project lands on the desks of these MDAs, it must first be known to you.
Without any denial, there are a lot of wonderful benefits that come with being the president of the country.
The first call of a leader is Service and as such one should serve the people before seeking to be served by the people.
There are different terms associated with a leader of a country or nation. The selection process also differs in ways such as Direct Democracy, Socialism, Communism, Monarchy, Oligarchy, and Autocracy.
Either of the selection processes brings about an established government that is here to stay and serve the people.
Analyzing The Current State Of The Country
When Nigeria started in those days, we bubbled with milk and honey. In literal terms, we were flourishing and lavishing in raw wealth.
Good leaders emerged and made things better. These leaders intended to create a stable ground for the people, a footstep upcoming leaders should follow.
It all looked so rosy until the civil war broke out between the years of 1967-1970. It started precisely or as recorded on 6th July 1967 and ended on 15th January 1970.
This happened because the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) sited a problem and decided to segregate itself from the government of Nigeria to become a secessionist state.
That looked like the beginning of problems in the country because this IPOB group has continued to battle and rally around achieving the successful Republic of Biafra.
There are a lot of things going on in the country which has their roots emanating from the government and its environment.
The decisions made at the table of our leaders affect the citizens greatly and any slight adjustment could bring out great relief to the people it's called to serve.
Over the years, vibrant individuals have committed suicide due to their vague analysis of the country. Knowing fully well that it's not going to be better, they end it immediately.
To afford basic amenities like food, water shelter and items of clothing is a personal war intended to be fought and won by poor individuals.
The number of beggars on the street multiplies every day, armed robbery is on the increase, and security is left at the mercy of God.
Why do you think you will be suitable for the position of a President?
There's no prior experience as a president before applying or vying for the position except one is going for a second tenure.
If elected as the president of Nigeria, my first call of duty would be to introduce or increase the workforce through poverty alleviation schemes.
They do exist just that there's no monitoring agency to ensure that these agencies act following their reasons for being established.
Without wasting much time, my target is to reduce or write off pending debts attributed to my country from the International Monetary Fund.
What people don't know is that continuous and unnecessary debt contributes a lot to the country's economic and financial value.
Back on June 29, 2005, Nigeria's debt was relieved from them when they borrowed from Paris Club. The initial amount was USUS$35.994 billion but Paris Club agreed to collect US$18 billion and write off the remaining debt.
This was done through proper negotiations and agreements facilitated by Ex-Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala under the presidential administration of General Olusegun Aremu Okikiola Mathew Obasanjo.
This debt once relieved, brings appreciation to our currency exchange. Instead of using 500 nairas to buy one product, we use it to buy two, make gain and the cycle continues.
Nigeria Export-Import will be on the good side and some countries can list the naira as an acceptable form of currency in any trade at the port.
Naira will then become a leading currency, valued alongside Dollars, Great British Pounds, Euros, Canadian Dollars, and many more.
Of course, it's not going to be easy as there are going to be some discrepancies in the opinions of government officials who as a president, I hold in high esteem.
I believe that whatever elevates the poverty level in the country should be at the back of everyone's minds.
I should have a great percentage of officials willing to ensure that this initiative of mine is here to stay through the help of the three arms of government.
As a president, I must work according to the constitutions laid down governing my governance and position.
Any major effect must pass through appropriate bodies in other to be accepted, passed as a bill, and implemented.
Identify the most pressing problems that your citizens are facing and try to proffer solutions to them
My position as a president gives me the ultimatum to ensure that the citizens' lives and property are secured at all times.
They depend on me to provide security, prevent wars and enhance the stability of lives and property within the country.
Failure to achieve this means that I haven't lived up to the expectations of my people and as such I'm not a good leader.
The most pressing issue the citizens are facing is that of insecurity which is eating deep into the lives of all and sundry.
No one is oblivious of what's going on around them and some capable families, have taken appropriate measures.
Poor families are left at the mercy of being looked after by God. Even the place they felt safe in before is prone to attack.
The recent attack on the people who attended a Catholic church in Ondo State has sent chills up the spines of many.
That shouldn't have happened. It's something that can easily be prevented or minimized. There was no provision to put an emergency call to security agencies within the environment.
Once I'm able to tackle this pressing issue, I believe I've been able to reduce a whole lot of burden on the shoulders of many citizens.
They would be able to carry on with their daily business activities without fear of being attacked by hoodlums or victimized by perpetrators living in the society.
Do you have any innovations you are bringing in?
Of course, there would be a few innovations that will be introduced and upgrades made to meet the current standard of living.
The world is constantly evolving and there's a need to adapt. The problem is that most of these innovations are coming from other countries.
I would love to bring an innovation that will be used within the country and adopted by international and national country leaders.
I would ensure that I restore Nigerians' financial and economic status to a more favorable state in which the citizens can enjoy.
Conclusion
Nigeria is a very beautiful country to live in. It's filled with enormous natural resources which makes it a center of attraction in the world.
Using that as an advantage, the citizens are supposed to be the excess and first beneficiary in which its abundance is exported to other nations.
I want to use this opportunity to humbly invite @beetees, @felichi and @chi-amaka to participate in this contest
I can tell you one thing... you will be a very funky President!:-)
I love the idea that we must adapt from other countries.
There is so much good to be learn from others but so often we just don't want to acknowledge it.
Good luck for the contest!
