My Neighborhood Watch #59 - Reporting Events Around us

Greetings steemian friends, am delighted to present my entry in this week reporting events around us.

My today entry is what is happening in my neighborhood about a young guy who is not an Akwa ibomite been caught in robbing a student to get a phone. Scroll down to see what really cause the crowd.

The new happened in ikpa Road Uyo, opposite University of Uyo town campus

Many things are now happening in the world because of ignorance. The one that barvel me is about someone trying to make himself protected, recognize, feel big and be known for who he is not.

Unfortunately, what he did inturn became a problem to him, bring shame to his family and become a traitor to the people around and the society at large. I wonder what was the main reason of his decision.

Yesterday morning around pass 10:00am where people are there in their respective offices to start their work. Outdoor activities, hawker are already on roads doing their business to Carter for themselves. I heard from my office window burn nam! kill nam! Kill this guy.

I viewed from the window and the people drew the victim out from the backyard of my office to the main road. I quickly rushed down to get a picture and report of what is happening in my neighborhood. Reaching there, he was seriously beaten, dragged from one point to another. According to the beaters, he and his friend collected A cellphone from a University of Uyo Student who was on his way to school, drag the student into a bush track to beat too, after they might have collected his phone

Unfortunately to him, the student raised alarm and the Akwa ibom state polytechnic drivers that were close heard and rush to them. When the saw that people were coming, they started running but the owner of the phone got hold of one of them until the drivers came and started beating him up. His friend that was holding the phone ran away with the phone and his no way to be found.

It is such a pity that despite this hard time that most of the people are facing and struggling to survive, a grown-up young man could not look for a meaningful and helpful thing to do for himself, rather he choose roaming about to steal or collect phone from a fellow human being.

The Authority has stop burning anyone who is caught in the act of stealing if not Tuesday would have been the last day for him because tyre and fuel were brought by some people but because no one can go against the Authority, he was left with no option than to continue receiving big blows from stone, stick, shoes, bottles and other bloody available things seen by people.

The blood that rush out from his head made me to be scared and I quickly went back to the office. I know the beating he received will teach others who are there that used to steal a lesson. Before leaving the scene, I learnt that his a known thief. I also learnt that, one of this popular church, Dunamis that is close to my office, that they have the mind to stool things from the church.

Stealing is not the right thing to do and will never be. Engaging to haw or learn a skill or work for someone and get paid is preferably. Luckily to him, as he was dragged to the University of Uyo fence to dealt with him in a way he didn't expect, human simpathy people get the attention of the police official that wanted to pass and he was recued by the police and was taken away.

Please my fellow steemian, let try to be vigilant always. Take a very good look at the next person sitting or walking close to you. Be alert, careful expecially when you're out of home because this guy's have a strong heart, they can go far in killing just to a any of your belonging.

Be very very careful of whom you call your friend. Stay away from trouble and stay safe.
