Hi, Steemians it's a great privilege and honor to participate in this life-changing great topic of today organized by @josepha. It is a great initiative to share our views about the Absence of Human Rights In My Country. I wish to make my first entry as a new steemian with this amazing topic.
The level of human rights in my country is in total shambles a case where the poor has no rights and the riched elites has the maximum human rights and protections as well, Human rights in this part of the country do not go by the books but by how influential you are at the society, the amounts you have and the alliance you've created with the government parastatals that matters not the rights of any common citizens alike.
Honestly No, there are no fundamental human rights as a citizen of my country I've enjoyed since birth till this adulthood of mine, come to think of it the common man in my country knows no rights. When the policymakers make and aline policies to suit their status by benefiting them most in visually every sector of life, living in a good environment getting all the basic amenities like pipe born water, good healthcare system around them, good schools for their children/wards, laws that are manipulated or flexible in their favors not minding who it's hurts in the process.
So yes I'm not enjoying fundamental human rights in my country the only rights I'm enjoying are because I'm alive and hoping that the status quo will someday change for the better your caof all common people. I see the right to life, religion, and freedom of government as a default right enjoyable by all, but another right to be enjoyed as a citizen is highly selective.
Every day of our life as a citizen of a country where the judiciary system is not effective. People tend to meet their faith either in the hand of law enforcement (police or the military alike) circle who care less about the law they uphold. In this case, people who are not well-to-do in society tend to always fall victim to this lawlessness.
On the 20th day of October 2021, I set out of the house with my motorcycle to go and buy a set of trousers at a shop in town to get prepared for my evening shift since worked as a customer care executive with a popular network brand, on reaching the junction of my streets a police officer stopped me pointing an AK47 rifle at me to stop my motorcycle obliged to him. He walked up to me and searched me, but before that, I asked with a smile what were my offenses to be stopped in that manner and way. He replied that if I get anything criminating around you(me), I'll smell my anus today.
I came down from the motorbike and he(the police officer) searched the boots of my bike finding absolutely nothing he then requested my papers which I told him were not with me and I'll need to rush back home and get the particulars (papers). The next thing I could hear was a very sound and thunderous slap on my ear.
I went deaf for some seconds, hmm. Keep asking him (the police officer) why he slapped me his response was why will I tell him I have to go home and bring my papers and accused me of trying to snatch his AK47 rifle I was manhandled that day cried inside of me that God should liberate the oppressed and save us from lawlessness in my country and the world for those who face the same faith towards human rights.
The law or human rights only benefits the rich people, people with sophisticated amounts of influence, not the common man who's trying hard to survive another day of hardship and perils. I would like to invite @yakpeace @mjerry and @zawrak to participate in this contest.
