The Christmas season is here filling the air with magic and warmth! The festive spirit is alive, and everywhere you go, you can feel the joyous excitement brewing in anticipation of the celebrations ahead. As a child, while growing up, the season is not complete without a visit of Father Christmas either in our school Christmas party, Church Christmas party or Christmas party in my neighbourhood. Although, as children, we were scared of the look of Father Christmas and sometimes watched him from afar, we always expected his presence at Christmas.

However, as a child, when you begin to advance in age, you no longer get scared. I remember an experience we took my niece to visit Father Christmas on a Christmas season like this; she was so scared and cried that we had to pull her into the room to at least get a gift. That day gave me a lot of thinking about why the scare of Father Christmas, but he doesn't look so bad. I know I was once scared like her. But when she was about two years older, the next time we visited Father Christmas, she was cool and happy, shook hands with him and posed for a picture of him, so I asked what changed.

So Father Christmas existed not as a magical figure with special power but as a normal being associated with charitable giving, reminding us of the importance of sharing, joy, generosity and goodwill during the Christmas season.

Father Christmas, as we know and call him, is the same as Santa Claus, as some people call him. Linked to a 4th-century Greek bishop known as Saint Nicholas of Myr, known for his generosity, kindness, and secret gift-giving. He incorporated the idea of selflessness and the joy of giving gifts. Another version of him began to emerge as people began to imitate him in different parts of the world with gift giving, showing love and generosity. This has brought about the figure of Father Christmas, which has become an important part of Christmas, especially for children.

Anyway, when I found that Father Christmas, was not the scary and intimidating portrayal in books and movies but just a normal person dressed in a costume, I was so disappointed because they appeared so real and put up a voice that matched their costume, making it scarier. When I see children cry over them now, I wish I could make them understand it's just an ordinary person in a custom and not a supernatural figure.

In summary, Father Christmas plays a significant role in this season of celebration as its influences extend beyond gift-giving, but also a promoter of community spirits such as community events featuring Father Christmas, and his presence promotes the togetherness of family and friends.

Hahahahahaha, that's so funny believing that Santa Claus is a messenger sent from God to visit us with gifts. There were so many stories and beliefs about Santa as a child but it was beautiful
