Welcome and hello steemians in this wonderful community. As you all know it I'm notifying my entry into this lovely contest composed and hosted by @benton3. The aim of this contest is to draw a chameleon. After drawing the chameleon I'm going to give you guys information regarding a chameleon. So I would like to begin now to show you the steps I took in achieving the aim.

Before I begin I would like to invite my friends @emmaboy, @entity and @wizzyboy3 to this lovely contest.

Hoping they will all participate let me move to the materials I used for drawing the chameleon👇

1. A pencil
2. An eraser
3. A plain paper

Now let's move to the drawing section

Step 1

To begin I started with the head as usual and then I drew it's eyes, nose and it's mouth. Then I had to show the line of it's cheek and it looked like this 👇

Step 2

After drawing it's head I had no choice than to focus on it's hands and it's body. And so I did justice to that. I drew the two hands in front and I drew the back and the spikes on it. This was the outcome 👇

Step 3

Next, I had to focus on the two legs at the back of the chameleon and then its tail. In other to do this I had to link the body to it's tail. Then I drew the tail in a coily manner and it looked like this 👇

Step 4

My drawing is not yet finished. I felt I needed to add a finishing touch to the drawing which was shading it. After drawing it I had to write my username and the community I'm posting to. And this was the final outcome 👇

Facts about chameleon

Chameleon is a special reptile that is known for it's camouflage ability. When a chameleon is in danger it mixes up with it's environment. A chameleon's diet includes insects like butterflies, crickets, grasshoppers etc. it usually does this by using it's sticky tongue to catch insects. One thing that makes a chameleon unique is it's camouflaging ability. A chameleon's eye can move separately. It also discovered that chameleon's have dry, keratinized skins.

Benefits to humans

Chameleons benefit man in so many ways but I'll mention a few. Here are the benefits of chameleons:
1 . Chameleons help in controlling insects and pests population which on turn helps us in the reduction of crop damage and helps in reducing the spread of diseases.
2 . Chameleons are one of the predators in the animal kingdom and because of that the aid in maintenance of the ecosystem.
3 . Scientists who study chameleons are inspired by it's unique features and in turn they turn their inspiration into reality by inventing biomimetic designs, adaptive materials, robotics and self-cleaning surfaces.
4 . Chameleons serve as indicators of ecosystem health which helps in monitoring environmental changes.

In Conclusion

To conclude this I want to say that It is truly an honour participating in this lovely contest. I also want use this opportunity to express my gratitude to @benton3 for composing this wonderful contest and allowing me to express myself in this manner.
