@bossj23, I want to appreciate you for this great contest you posted in steem4nigeria community. It is really a great contest to write about. Many people may not know that things like this ever exist but with this contest it has help them know, and through this the up coming generation will know that something like this one’s excited. One’s again I appreciate you.
This contest really take me back to the past
Taking my mine back to the past, there are some things that I can remember that were 10 years back. These include the following:
Looking at these brand of cars, beetle and pigeout 404. These cars were the car use by president in does days but now it is no more there. In does days if anyone drive that kind of car the person is said to have money, but now, if am to say, most people has not remembered that these kind of cars ever existed at all.
tax and exchange Calculator
Mighty Nice. This drink was common in my childhood days. My dad always buy it for me and my siblings but now, it is no longer in the market.*
Radio cassette
Tape recorder
The value of currency used In my country is depreciating. Money In my country, Nigeria, has no value. More money is chasing few goods. Prices of things keep skyrocketing on daily basis.
Commodities
- Patrol: 10 years back it was ₦145, now ₦700
- Indomie (super pack): 10 years back it was ₦80, now ₦550
- Egg: 10 years back it was ₦30, now ₦150
- Beans: 10 years back it was ₦50, now ₦320
- Hitarget wrapper: 10 years back it was ₦2200, now ₦13000
Yes ooo it has affected me and everyone in my country. And if anyone in my country says that it has not affected him or her it a lie. It may affect them directly or indirectly.
The changes affected my choice of food, clothes. There is some restrictions on places I would like to go because of high cost of transportation. Businesses are not functioning as there is no customer to service.
However, through faith in God, the heat is less. I have been able to make some necessary adjustment. I have also sought for alternatives. Thanks to Steemit. Through it I can increase my earnings to meet the demands of today.
I love to invite @bessie2023, @chiomzy810 and @emmaboy23 to participate in this contest
Thanks.

Your nostalgic reminiscence about items from the past, coupled with the candid discussion about the depreciation of the currency and rising commodity prices, paints a vivid picture of the challenges faced by many Nigerians. Your personal anecdotes add depth to your narrative and make it engaging for readers. Thank you for inviting others to participate in the contest and for contributing to the conversation about societal changes in Nigeria.
