- Hello, dear Steemians! π
Good day to you all & to my fellow Nigerian's π³π¬ποΈand how are you doing? Sincerely, is a pleasure to be with you once again in this wonderful community.
It's another fantastic day to take part in this wonderful contest, which I believe will be even more engaging and exciting. Iβd also like to extend my greetings to the host @ruthjoe and this incredible community for organizing such a great event and allowing us the chance to discuss it in depth. Below, Iβll provide a detailed presentation on my view on the high cost of items here in my country Nigeria π³π¬, and I believe you will be pleased to know π about that. Letβs get started!
Hardship.
Sincerely, hardship is the current situation we are facing here in Nigeria. Is quite obvious that things were not normal as it was before, but the experience of this current situation of hardship in Nigeria is now to notorious that even leads to the last protest which was End Bad Government.
The funny part is that no one is excluded from it, both the rich π€ and poorπ© is suffering from the same challenge. Mean while, the poor can't afford to get what the are used to anymore while the rich has reduced the rate of their expenses just to meet up and chop with the hardship situation of the country currently.
Currently in Nigeria, not even a single item is still the same price as it was before as of 2023, everything has just increased in price, and the worst part is that items keep on increasing in price on a daily basis without reducing, and as the keep on increasing in price so as the demand keeps on decreasing, so this shows that it's really affecting the masses.
- 50 kg Cement:
Current Price= 10,500 Naira
2005 Formal Price= 2500 Naira
Amount in Steem= 41 steem - Fuel:
Current Price= 1400 Naira
Formal Price= 700 Naira
Amount in Steem= 5 steem - Per kg of Cooking Gas
Current Price= 1350 Naira
Formal Price= 750 Naira
Amount in Steem= 4.8 steem - Sachet water
Current Price= 30 Naira
Formal Price= 10 Naira
Amount in Steem= 0.09 steem - Rice
Current Price= 90,000 Naira
Formal Price= 40,000 Naira
Amount in Steem= 321 steem
Is too obvious to everyone that after the fuel subsidy was lifted, the price of fuel now skyrocketed from it managing price to the worst, and from that day, the prices of items and also the means of transport now increased massively. So I believe that the cause of all this difficulties is really coming from the governments and the chief civil servant which is the 'president.
If given the chance to relocate for better opportunities, I would choose Canada due to its ample job options and higher wages, believing I could better navigate its economy, because the most annoying situation here in Nigeria is that most public sector, doesn't pay their workers there salaries or wages completely, most times the don't pay at all.
So wtithout a doubt, I would move to Canada without hesitation. I've resolved that if the opportunity arises, I will leave Nigeria immediately. The situation here is dire, with the rich becoming richer and the poor growing increasingly impoverished, highlighting the level of corruption in the country.
Thanks for going through this amazing post of my I really appreciate π.
Am inviting my friends @richy20, @josepha and @goodbest to also participate.
