Good day every one, is a pleasure to publish to you all this educative and interesting post so at this point I extend my warm greetings to my fellow Nigerians and to all steemians—I genuinely wish you all the best.
By God's grace, today offers another opportunity for creativity, and today is another day when I will be traveling to one of the West African countries called Gambia and in return, I will now unveil to you all some hidden and interesting fact's about them, so please don’t feel upset or offended; just relax while we go.
The Gambia, located in West Africa, is classified as a Least Developed Country with 'low human development.' This small nation, bordered by Senegal, features a narrow Atlantic coastline and is recognized for its rich biodiversity along the Gambia River.
Is so interesting to know that this particular country was under the rule of President Yahya Jammeh for more than 20 years, and he frequently infringed upon political rights and civil liberties. However, the 2016 election saw an unexpected triumph for opposition candidate Adama Barrow, who was re-elected in 2021.
Mean while, The Gambia is known for its tolerance towards various religious beliefs, as it has a predominantly Muslim population—approximately 90% adhere to Islam—but remains essentially a secular state that takes pride in its acceptance of all religions.

Agriculture plays a crucial role in The Gambia's economy, accounting for 17% of the GDP and 30-40% of foreign exchange earnings from exports. The economy relies significantly on peanut (groundnut) production and exportation.
Additionally, The Gambia is famous for its picturesque beaches along the small Atlantic coastline and for being home to Jufureh (Juffureh), the recognized ancestral village of Kunta Kinte, the central figure in Alex Haley's renowned novel, Roots.

The Gambia boasts an intriguing variety of plant life and wildlife, rich ecosystems, diverse landscapes, and a multitude of animal species. Its settings range from savannahs and mangroves to beaches, urban areas, and rural communities. The nature reserves in The Gambia hold great importance for both locals and tourists.
Renowned for its beauty, The Gambia is likely the most tranquil country in the sub-region. The cost of living is relatively low compared to neighboring nations, although salaries are also modest. The people of The Gambia are welcoming, and tourism plays a crucial role in generating foreign exchange. Generally, Gambians are fond of visitors, often referring to them as tourists.
