How is the level of human rights in your place

Trampling on fundamental rights is a huge violation and should be reconsidered. These violations should be stopped as a nation forba better life for the citizens to enjoy.

The human rights in my country is not really held In high esteem too. The fundamental human rights of citizens are violated most times with little reactions to the menace. I therefore so not enjoy this violation as an individual. I am a human right activist na would always stand out for the rights of citizens combating this societal violation in the nearest future.

scenario

I visited a big financial institution, queued up to be attended to by the customer service. I got annoyed when a man that just arrived and didn't queue up was given preferencial treatment ahead of us. He as attended to while I had to wait. This really pained me

Do you think that you are currently enjoying your fundamental human rights as a citizen of your country? Tell us how you have been enjoying it.

I have been enjoying the fundamental human rights in my country although it has not been maximized yet. I do agree with the fact that I have observed some human rights are being enjoyed and it is a good start of good will. I hope it gets better on the long run.

scenario

I have enjoyed the freedom of worship at last without being reprimanded by any security operative. It is really a good one as I visit the church weekly without altercation. It's a good one to start with at the least

Do you have any such story where your rights were trampled? It doesn't have to be about you. Just tell us a case where someone has their rights trampled on by someone who should have upheld them.

Massacre At the Lekki Toll Gate

On the 10th of October 2020 there was a huge violation of fundamental human rights. There was youths who visited the Lekki toll gates at night to protest against the illegal killing by the SARS security squad. The protest was from morning till night.

However, the military come to the scene in the evening. There where and tanks around the scene and that was when my instincts strated nudging me to leave the scene. I obliged immediately and went home.

Suddenly, at the first touch if dusk the military men came out and took their stance immediately yelling at the crowd to go home. A crowd of close to 3 thousand youths. It was so real, the crowd where agitating for their rights to life as their brothers and sisters where being killed by the SARS squad in various cities in the country.

Moreso, the military battalion at exactly past 8 pm. Opened fire on innocent armless citizens causing a blood bathe! It was so bad that almost about one- third the crowd were killed with lots of injuries. It remains a day of mourning for the nation. Our voice must be heard we stand for our rights.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences regarding human rights violations. It is unfortunate that many people around the world still face such violations on a regular basis. I commend you for being a human rights activist and standing up for the rights of citizens.

Regarding your story about the Lekki Toll Gate massacre, it is a tragic reminder of the importance of protecting human rights and holding those who violate them accountable. It is important to continue to raise awareness and advocate for the protection of human rights so that incidents like this can be prevented in the future.
