Water is a colourless, odourless and tasteless liquid. Earth as a planet has water filling up its major parts.

Water is very essential for all known forms of life (ranging from plants, animals and man). it's importance cannot be overemphasized. It is vital for various biological processes, such as hydration, movement of nutrients around the body, regulating of temperature in living organisms.

Water unique properties, like being a universal solvent and having a high boiling point, having a low boiling point, being the only solvent to quench thirst makes it indispensable for life, which actually suits the saying that "Water is life".

My Choices

Actually, my choice of the temperature of water to use for bathing and drinking is quite dependent on the weather.

Bathing: I would prefer a warm bath every day, especially very early in the morning. This is because I usually wake up with cold hands and feet which sends a cold shiver down my spine (at the thought of bathing in cold water).

Drinking : For drinking I would prefer water at room temperature (warm water) though I can drink cold water (which is the least preferred) on very hot and sunny days.

Reasons For My Choices

I prefer to bathe with warm water because it offers several benefits, both physical comfort and health benefits.

  • Firstly, warm water for a bath keeps me off anxiety about having my bath in the early hours of the morning.

  • It increases blood circulation because the heat from the water opens up blood vessels which can bring healing and soothing to the body.

  • Warm water releases stress, especially after a long day or exercise, because it soothes aching joints and muscles. In fact, it is also used for massage therapy.

  • It opens up clogged skin pores, allowing for deeper skin cleansing through removing dirt, oil and impurities.

I prefer to drink room temperature water because:

  • Room temperature water doesn't leave me with the cold chills after effects neither does it give the shocking effects on my teeth

  • It allows the the body to easily break down the food we eat easily also speeds up easy absorption of those nutrients for the body's use

  • It allows easy hydration as it does not come with brain freeze, thereby encouraging consumption.

Cold water, while stimulating and refreshing, does not provide the same level of comfort or therapeutic ( medicinal) benefits that warm water does, which is why I prefer warm water.
