My Neighborhood Watch #72 - Reporting Events Around Us

I am so delighted to participate in this beautiful contest in the Steem4Nigeria Community by @xkool24, thank you so much sir for always bringing up amazing contests in this noble community and it is my pleasure to drop my entry, I do hope that you all enjoy my post.

Tell us about those life events/Activities happening in your neighborhood.

The life event/Activity that happened in my neighborhood was a marriage introduction.

As you all know, marriage is a good thing.
So, yesterday the 27th of October 2024 my neighbor's daughter officially brought her man and showed him to her family members. This is by the customer and tradition of our people that when a lady wants to get married, the first step is an introduction rite.

This introduction rite will enable the girl and the boy's family to familiarize themselves with each other and also, it will enable the boy and his family to state their purpose of visit before any other process begins.

So, I was at the introduction ground in person where I met one of my Steemian sister by the name @vickyson, and at the time I arrived, I saw that the girl's family was asking her if she loved the guy and she responded "yes" so, after she responded, the other processes begins e.g. acceptance of palm wine and some amount of money.

In my place, if they talk about marriage introduction, it used to be a gathering of a few people which includes the girl family and the boy family, and maybe with a few members of the community but in yesterday's marriage introduction, it was a different thing altogether.

The introduction ground was filled up with people from different places, the celebration was so massive, there was music, and people were dancing with happiness.

At one point, the girl with her husband-to-be were asked to come out and dance which they did. They both danced with beautiful smiles on their faces. It was an amazing celebration and a celebration that got me asking myself how I wish it was me😄. Indeed love is a beautiful thing.
