Introduction

Being married is beautiful, having good friends and a good relationship around you is also good. Now, the question is, should you do away with even the very good friends who stood by you and have been a source of courage and inspiration to you? If you ask me, I'll tell you to please read to the end to get the answer.

How do you see continuing friendship after Marriage.

Keeping or doing away with friends after marriage depends on the past relationships which you had with such friends. If I'll be honest, there are friends you can't do away with just like that. There's a usual saying that "there's a friend that sticks closer than a brother." Remember before the marriage, that friend was there and there may be a time you'll need that friend in your life.

It's good to be close to your spouse. I'm not disputing that fact, but you have to realise that there are times you need to speak to someone other than your spouse. That's not to say that you must continue a friendship with your ex, who is the opposite gender. That's a big "NO" I won't support that.

And also, while trying to keep or maintain friendship and good relationship, not all friends are worth keeping after marriage. Sieve them to get the best you can keep as friends.

Do you encourage calling besties and treating your friends so dearly after Marriage.

The issue of bestie is always laughable to me because I just keep friends, not bestie or something. I don't encourage besties. When you are married, take a break, let your bestie know that your spouse is your bestie.

Not all spouses want or encourage besties, especially if not your gender. Please keep them very far from me. To the bestie, go and rest and give the newly wedded a breathing space, they need to bond too. If he/she decides to get back, then you were important. If not, please rest and let peace reign. It's not compulsory to do "bestie" after marriage. Thank you!

What experience have you or someone encountered positively or Negatively that should encourage or discourage such friendship.

I used to keep friends, but while growing up, I reduced the number of friends. If you ask me, I consider myself friendly and not too friendly because I've not been too fortunate with my gender friendship.

So keeping quality friends after marriage is good because you may need help from them one day. It could be of emergency and moral support. That's why I encourage friendship after marriage and not bestie anything.

Talking of an experience which makes me to encourage friendship after marriage. I have heard of a lady whose friends supported her to pay her child's hospital bills when she and her husband couldn't raise funds for that. No one prays for any emergency situation, but when it comes, you must attend to it.

I also come in contact with a man who said his friends sponsored his child's surgery and are planning to send the child abroad due to the child's health condition. So, I encourage keeping contact with reasonable friends after marriage.

What is your personal opinion or view on continuing friendship after Marriage.

I encourage friendship after marriage. It depends on the level of friendship. That has to do with picking the best, "(sieve them)". Not all friends should be maintained after marriage, especially those who have nothing to offer or those who won't allow you to concentrate in your home. We have home breakers even among married folks, leave them and move on but keep to those good ones.

Conclusion

Every human is important but not everyone can be your friend. Choose your friends wisely, there are friends who mustn't be with you in the midst of your joy, some are wolfs in sheep clothing.

In all of it, quality friends are assets which you can't do without. In other words, friendship with the opposite gender shouldn't be kept, do away with them, they maybe innocent but it has a way of destroying your marriage if your spouse is not the understanding type.
