Good day my people here in STEEMIT, mostly to this community members. Thanks to @steem4nigeria for organizing this contest.

What were the lies you believed while growing up?

Am going to share most of the lies our parents told us while we were growing up just to help us be obedience and live life to please them 😅.

  1. If you drink garri or coke after eating mango, you'll die 🙆🏻‍♂️😂; just to stop us from eating excess sugar.

  2. You must throw your fallen tooth on the roof before it can grow back 🙊: just to make us through away our fallen teeth without holding it for too long and be playing with it.

  3. When you sing & wave to the egret birds, you'll get white spots on your fingernails🙈 Leke Leke give me white finger: I don't even the main reason for this one o 😅

  4. If it is raining and there is sun at the same time, it means that a lion or monkey is giving birth: hmm this one self I don't even know if is true or is lie even till now I can really tell.

  5. When you bend and look back in between your legs, you'll see spirits; just to make us stop playing rough play, bending to look in-between our legs 😅

  6. Don't wear rubber bands because it drains blood; this one shock me o 😅, just to stop us from wearing rubber band, because of rough play we will just carry it and shoot someone

  1. If you eat while kneeling, you will never get satisfied because the devil will be taking some; so that we will always be sitting while eating o 😅.

  2. If you blow air inside a pencil sharpener, it won't sharpen pencils anymore; this one self am still contemplating it is true or lie; but the main reason for this is because, while blowing air inside the sharpener as a child, there is also saliva that will come out with the air into the sharpener, and they want us to stop blowing saliva into the sharpener by using that trick.

  3. When you swallow a seed, especially African star apple seeds (Udara), it will germinate and grow in your stomach; this one is a prank for children, they will make you to cry by saying this anytime you mistakenly swallow a seed 😅.

  4. If you whistle at night, you're calling the evīl spirits and serpents: this was another kind of play they don't want us as children to play in the night and that is the only means they can stop us.

  5. If you look at the mirror at night, you'll see a ghost.

What was your reaction after finding out the truth as an adult?

It's really funny me realizing this as lies, I later confirm that it was us to avoid some certain life's and live the way out parents want.

It's not even quit long I realized this was lies, but couldn't do anything, just had to take it as life.

Do you subscribe to telling lies to young minds in a bid to protect them or you choose to call a spade a spade?

Yes if course, as they did to me and it was helpful so I also do to others so it will be helpful 🌝

There is this one I told my cousin sister, that Udara seed is going to grow in her head she started crying until the mother came and told her nothing will happen before she stopped crying.😅

It's just for fun as they did to me.

Thanks for reading my post.
