Good morning Friends! I trust your week is going well, today is my pleasure to share with you the highlights of my city's hangout which was held on Saturday 23rd December 2023. It was one in a million, the turnout was massive and in one word I can say it was successful!

We opened a WhatsApp group during our last meetup 4 months ago, and almost all the users in my city are in the group, most especially the newbies so that they could be trained and encouraged. So me and Ngoenyi planned the hangout and then informed every member of the group, the response was favourable so we fixed the date, time and venue.

More than 30 Users besides kids turned up and I was so happy, yes all of us were so happy to meet, the meeting began with us introducing ourselves and our professions, most in our midst were students, fresh graduates, businessmen, and teachers. After the introduction, Ngoenyi gave an opening speech welcomed all to the occasion and encouraged everyone to be consistent and active.

I took on the topic: things we need to know about Steemit and growth.

I told them that Steemit is a decentralised blockchain platform, we have two types of users the content creators and the Curators. To thrive on the platform we are to be p:

  • Original, authentic and creative.
  • We should always create good and qualitative content free from plagiarism. One not generated with AI
  • We should support one another through upvotes and meaningful engagement.

  • Most importantly I've encouraged them to develop power-up habits. Always follow club status they are comfortable with and never fall out. I introduced different statuses to them, the club5050 which has 1 month accounting period and they have to power up at least 50% of your monthly reward, Club75 have 2 month accounting period and one needs to power up at least 75% of his or her reward for 2 months to join the club and must continue thereafter, and lastly, the club100 which have 3 months accounting period, one needs to consistently power up all his/her reward for good 3 months to join and must continue after that.

  • Support the Steemit team initiative, for example, the Burnsteem25 project, which is for the benefit of all users, the project aimed at reducing the supply of Steem thus helping in improving the price of Steem.

  • They must be active and consistent, because the difference between successful and unsuccessful people lies in consistency.

Then it was Question and Answer Time:

A lot of questions were anchored on achievement tasks, so I've answered them and emphasized the importance of them finishing their tasks in the Newcomer's community because it will help them to be well acquainted with the platform.

Second to the last was Steemit quiz time, which was quite fun 😊 and some win recharge cards and lastly the entertainment time, we ate fried rice and chicken, with salad and soft drinks.

After eating we were dancing, some guys brought their MP3 player and it was extremely fun! @mesola and @okere-blessing were our chefs and most of the audience contributed to the refreshment. We all were revitalised and encouraged at the end of the day and we hope to be meeting more, come this 2024. Some in attendance include @Alfredvictor, @vudeme123, @emmyjnr, @uduak3287, @benton3, @bossj23, @imohmitchel, @okere-blessing, @ngoenyi @mesola, @johnmichel, @hannybanny, @realitytrend, @eveetim, @chiomy, @bessie23 @fortwis09, @yhudy, @wizzyboy3, @jebymoz12, @ukpono, @whizzbro4eva, @basil20, @nsijoro @newekemini Thank you!
