Hello my fellow steemians on steem4nigeria, we are in the raining season and I'm sure we are enjoying hot choco at our various home.
Thank you @ngoenyi and the special steem4nigeria team for putting together this contest for us to get engaged and talk more about our country which is our home.
I am from Nigeria (Western Africa) and I'm based in Lagos which is a state in Nigeria.
Nigeria is a beautiful country blessed with alot of natural resources, nigeria can also be called the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
it was founded by Lord Fredrick lugard who is a British man, the British began to gain access into nigeria in 1861 then it became a British colony in 1914 but Nigerians decided to take back their country in 1960 and it became a republic in 1963 that is why the official name is Federal Republic of Nigeria.
we can say from the history that Nigeria was in bondage for quite a long time but I'm glad our fore fathers decided to fight for our freedom and liberty because without them I don't know what would have happened to Nigeria that's why in our national anthem we say "the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain".
The capital of Nigeria currently is Abuja, the formal capital was in Lagos but it was moved to Abuja in 1991. In Nigeria we have 36 states and each states are blessed with one or two natural resources aside that we have over 250 ethnic groups in Nigeria and the three major ones are Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa. we practice Christian religion, Islamic religion and traditional religion there is the right to choose any belief/religion of your choice.
Nigeria currency is Naira but back in the days coin was also used alongside with Naira but not anymore.
Nigeria natural resources: Nigeria is filled with natural resources like crude oil, salt, gold, zinc etc.

Food: We are blessed with good food, for every ethic group there is a unique food for example Amala and ewedu, ogbono and pounded yam, egusi and eba, peppersoup and many more.
Language: We have so many language that are spoken in Nigeria like Igbo language, Yoruba language, tiv language, Hausa language and our official language which is English.
I can speak English and yoruba, mo nireti pe o n see awon steemians daradara which means I hope you're doing well steemians.
Oil: oil is our biggest export and this exportation plays a vital role in our economy.
Agriculture: We love to farm in Nigeria like rice, yam, corn, potato, cocoyam etc.
- FOOD.
- FESTIVAL.
- AGRICULTURE.
YES,I would come back because there is no place like home and it's my identity whether I like it or not, Nigeria is a beautiful country aside everything happening, I believe no country is perfect so I love my country dearly and I would come back for the food, attend the festival and cultivate agricultural food.
I enjoyed my time spent in participating in this lovely contest, thank you once again team @steem4nigeria.
I invite @gracellagift, @ifylove and @ammyy.
Saludos y bendiciones 🙏
