It's my pleasure to meet with all in this community once again hopefully all is well with everyone as for me am good. Also I'm grateful to the admin and moderators of this community for initiating this captivating contest.

I want to write about the story that proof the proverbs "It is better to be late than to be the late"

INTRODUCTION

The proverbs means it is good to do something and achieve it or succeed late than rushing over it and not succeed or not doing it all.

It is important to know that if a person starts doing something / work today or tomorrow the person will definitely finish the work and succeed in life. Having the mindset of impossibility to complete a work will result in not completing the work since it was not even started. It is in human nature that any work that is difficult, one may simply decides not to do or continue with it, but we need to understand that quitting is never an option not to talk of considering it.

THE STORY

This is a story about an old woman who is a widow and lived in a village, she had two sons and one daughter, they all settled in the city and well to do. Her children would send her money every month for her upkeep, since there was no mobile phone as at then, the children used to send letters to know about her well being.
Once in a year his sons and daughter would come and visit her but for the rest of the year her only source of communication was the letters. The woman was not educated so she would go to the postmaster of the village to read the letters for her because she did not know how to read and write. The postmaster always help the old woman reading and writing the letters for her.

One day something sad happened, do you know what happened? unfortunately the postmaster died and they appointed another young postmaster, he was a rude person and did not want to help the woman,so that is how her way of communication with the children got cut off which makes her to be very upset.

One day the head master of the village school went to her and asked about why she is always upset and disappointed, the old woman told him that because of her being illiterate she is facing trouble to hear from the children as she used to, she described how she never went to school because of her commitments towards her family. After listening to the her problem, the head master gave her a solution that instead of asking help from others she should once again start going to school to learn how to read and write.

The old woman said that everybody would laugh at her at this age going to school, the headmaster told her that "it is better to be late than to be the late". So following this advice the old woman joined the night school so that people may not see her, and she started reading and writing, within few months she started writing letters to her children and getting their replies too. Then she did not have to go to anyone to read and write letter for her again, since that day she was clear on the proverb the headmaster told her that "it is better to be late than to be the late".

CONCLUSION

It's not only those who are fast that always win the race but slow and steady ones can also win the race, humans are unique and of different ability e.g if a student decides to study throughout the year, that student will take a better position in the class, another student may study during examination period while others study a night before the examination and also get promoted to the next class, but a student who does not study at all or who studies after the examination will fail and repeat the class. So it is good to try and do things even if it is late than never.
