Fundamental human rights

Introduction

Over the years Nigerian government and politicians are are trying to work hard in order to keep in pace with the human rights, that is the reason they include in their manifestos issues concerning human right and make promises on how to improve standard of living among Nigerians but could not fulfill them, then poverty rate in Nigeria keeps increasing while enforcement f fundamental human right looks like it is on a graphical retrogression, so what am I trying to write here is that if not because of fundamental right, human will be opresing each other to the extent that can not be expressed so thanks to this part of constitutional act.

Explanation of fundamental human rights

Fundamental human rights are the basic legal entitlement of each person who is a citizen of a particular country. It is fundamental because they are essential to the attainment of ones freedom in the society. These are right derived from the fundamental law which are recognized and established in the constitution of the country, also stand above the ordinary laws of the land and preceded the political society.

In Nigeria these fundamental right are written in the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended, chapter 4 section 33-46, Page 18- 26. These fundamental right is to protect the right and liberties of the citizens against tyranny.

Some of these right are :

• Right to life
• Right to dignity of human person,dignity to be valued and respected
• Right to fair hearing
• Right to personal liberty
• Right to acquire and own a property anywhere bin Nigeria
• Right to freedom of opinion and expression
• Right to freedom of movement
• Right to religion
• Right to freedom from slavery and torture
• Right to political opinion
• Right to private and family
• Right to peaceful assembly as association
• Right to work and education

Do all the citizens have these rights, or is it only made for the rich?

Yes all the citizens are entitled to these right without discrimination, the right should not be taken away from anyone except in specific conditions and according to due process. So everyone young and old child and adult, male and female, rich and poor are entitled to this right. Example if any one commit murder the person will be sentence to imprisonment or death depending on what will be the judgement in the court.

Have i been deprived of expressing my fundamental human rights before? What action did i take?

No am not

Mention and explain at most three fundamental human rights of your country.

1. Right to life : Everybody have the right to life nobody including those in authority who are government have the right to take away another person's life or kill someone either by mistake or intentionally, that is the reason they made a law that is covering killing and the penalty that the murderer have to pay or the consequences he will face. So it is duty of the government to protect life of the citizens and provide security for them and their property.

2. Right to freedom of movement : Everyone in Nigeria have the right to move to anywhere and reside anywhere within the boarder of Nigeria without a restriction or any problem.

3. Right to peaceful assembly and association : Everyone have the right to assemble freely and associate with anybody, organization, political association and religious group etc, no one is forced to belong to any group or association you do not want to belong.

Which of the fundamental human rights should be removed from the law. Give your reasons.

None of the fundamental human rights should be remove from the law.

Reason

Because they are all vital and protective to the citizens, if any is removed people will begin to encroach or meddle with others affairs and temper with that right, these right can not be taken away, it is inalienable.
