On the 10th of Zil-Hajj, we celebrate one of our great festivals, which is called Eid-ul-Azha.This day is celebrated following the great sacrifice of our Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Along with this, Hajj is also performed on this day
Let me tell you a little about this sacrifice. Hazrat Ibrahim (peace be upon him) had a dream that he would sacrifice his most beloved thing in the way of Allah. And this dream was seen in 3 consecutive nights, so he told his son (who was in the world with many prayers) Hazrat Ismail (peace be upon him). They went to the mountain and laid it with the intention of sacrifice. And blindfolded them and also blindfolded themselves with the same intention that the love of their son would not prevail and they would not stop from sacrificing their son. Taking the name of Allah, he turned the knife on his son's neck.
But Allah had to see the obedience of HIS prophet and as soon as the knife reached His son's neck, a miracle happened immediately and a sheep was sent from heaven in place of His Son. And the knife was turned on sheep's neck.
This is the reason why we also spend our money and buy sheep, goats and cows out of love and sacrifice them in the way of Allah.
For this purpose, the animal is bought long in advance and it is reared with love. If the animal falls ill, it is treated and given medicine etc.
Children also express their love in such a way that sometimes they put a necklace on it and sometimes a ribbon is tied on its horn. This is done to decorate it Is.
The meat of the sacrificed animal is used to make various kinds of food, such as fried meat, pulao, nihari, etc.
One of them is that the spirit of working together is created and the work is done quickly by everyone working together.
This Eid lasts for three days and sacrifices are made on all three days. The most fervor is on the first day. The meat can be eaten for the whole month. The stage of distribution of the meat is determined in three ways and that is that the whole meat is divided into three parts, one part for the family, one part for the relatives and one part for us, one for the poor.
We wish that most of the meat should be given to the poor because sacrifices have been made in our relatives' houses and sacrifices have also been made in our own houses, due to which we have meat. There is plenty of it while poor people only have meat to eat once a year and it is on this occasion that we provide them with meat.
It has been a month since Eid but it seems like it was just yesterday and we are still enjoying this Eid.
