I am so excited to be making this publication which happens to be the first of its kind for the year in this amiable and reputable community and I wish us a happy reading..

I am reporting from Ngwa Road, often regarded as the heart of Aba (Enyimba city) of Abia State, Nigeria. Over the years, Ngwa Road has been known for lots of things both good and bad, although so many streets besides Ngwa Road itself, are collectively called Ngwa Road.

Some years back, a part of Ngwa Road, that is Morning Market, Orji Uzo Kalu bridge (known as York face 2) joining Peoples Road junction were known as a black area or zone owing to the high rate of criminal activities that goes on in these vicinities.

Many people had no courage to trade these paths at night because snatching of phones, purses, bags, and other valuables on one was a common thing, even during the day there was tension and people went about with their hearts in their hands.

Appearances of cultists were also a regular experience. Sometimes in broad daylight, they come out in groups of fives and tens, and people are seen taking different routes just to give way for them.

Currently, this has become a story of the past. The setting up of the SARS station has helped in curbing the activities of these hoodlums. They have all disappeared into thin air, people now move about freely for their businesses without fear of any kind.

The current Abia State government administration ameliorated this situation by putting up functional solar-powered streetlights to illuminate the streets at night helping everyone to freely move even at night.

The solar-powered streetlights run from Emelogu junction to No. 1 Ngwa Road, a junction where Asa Road, cemetery market, and Portharcourt Road emerged, measuring about 2 kilometers.

Residents of these areas can now sleep with their two eyes well closed. These places that were once known as dead zones are now places where people move freely with interruptions. For quite a long time now, there hasn't been any news of robbery or cultist attacks.

The entire vicinity ever since these recent developments has been cool, peaceful, and enjoyable.
