Greetings to you all dear friends
It's a pleasure to be in this great community and to also participate on this amazing contest organised by @Steem4Nigeria...
How do you explain fundamental human rights?
In my opinion, Fundamental human rights refers to as those rights and privileges enjoyed by all citizens of a given country without any restrictions. Those rights are all applicable to all citizens irrespective of their religious, tribes and economy backgrounds.
However, those rights and privileges are highly stated in the constitution of most countries, thus it's a Universal Declaration acceptable by the United Nations.
Do you think all the citizens have these rights, or is it only made for the rich? (You can give examples if any).
The fundamental human rights is for all citizens of a given country, whether rich or poor is for all, except otherwise else the rights belong to all.
The otherwise, is concerning favouring the rich in our contemporary society today, cos the poor are the one suffering, no equal rights and opportunities, the rich has upper hands while the poor suffers a lot especially in the area of justice, if you have a case with a rich Man as an average Nigeria Man, forget it.
Have you been deprived of expressing your fundamental human rights before? What action did you take?
I've been deprived once oo, there was a mass arrest in my community one day like that, I was actually passing coz my mom sent me on an errand, on my way going unfortunately the police storm my area in riverside Masaka here and they arrested many young men that were passing that day, suspecting them as yahoo yahoo (cyberfraudsters) and drug addict or dealers, at One Man show Riverside Masaka for that matter.
They don't know I'm a potential teacher.
Any body that knows Riverside Masaka under New Karu LGA, Nasarawa State, Nigerialink, will know how dangerous the place is, so I fall victim of arrest and torture by the police, my rights to speak, freedom from torture was denied by the Nigeria Police force that day, I had to also pay for my release from the police cell the following morning, just imagine???.
Well, My brothers and sisters no actions was taken ooo (abeg), so long I'm out no issues, just that I received some kind of pains from the torture and the sleepless night but is all in the past, I just kept it behind and I moved on, so I'm more cautious, anywhere I see bad guys, I don't follow their way or walk in the night in that environment (Riverside) up to date, I hardly go out in the night, in other to avoid any unforeseen circumstances.(Experience is the best teacher).
Mention and explain at most three fundamental human rights of your country.
The 1999 Nigeria constitution as amended has outlined some certain rights and privileges for all citizens of my country, which is also recognised globally, are as follows:
- Right to life
- Right to private and family Life
- Right to Freedom of press
- Right to education
- Right to own landed property
- Right to freedom of movement
- Rights to freedom from discrimination
- Right to liberty etc....
✅Right to freedom of movement: Every citizen has the freedom of movement In Nigeria, all citizens are allowed to move to anywhere they want to within the country.
✅Freedom to own landed property: Country that has about or more than 250 ethnic groups but gives the citizens great privileges to own landed property in any part of the country they choose to reside to, without restrictions.
✅Right to Education: All equal education to all in the country, so long you can afford it, the door is highly open for everyone.
Which of the fundamental human rights should be removed from the law. (Give your reasons).
Well I don't think there's any needs for any of these fundamental human rights to be removed from the law provided is acceptable by the norms and traditions of the society then it's fine by me, and in as much as things are changing on daily basis, we as humans has to adapt by all circumstances we found ourselves, because change is permanent.
So, they should all be allowed to be enjoy by all that favours him or she, coz I don't see any wrong there. On that not, permit to invite @goodybest @josepha and @suboohi to also share their views.
Thank you all for reading through my post, I'm grateful...
Kind regards,
@ibraheem75

This particular right, right to own a property is really helpful to the poor because the rich would have not allowed the poor to own anything
